I hope he pans out defensively and I am concerned Seager may need to go to 3B at some point t

If Seager has to go to 3B anytime soon, then maybe he was a bad fit here.

The kid has played 481 games in the minors. It can no longer said that he is being rushed. He is just not that great.

Valid point but still would not put him in majors. Even as a 4th OF he had some troubles with his routes. His speed and arm and leaping are A ok with me

But if we do sign him we need him to have a set position

I am fine with him playing CF for now and then moving to RF eventually.

he's still under team control thru 2023 and then has 3 years of arbitration beyond that

CF has been a big black hole for the Rangers throughout most of their history, that's why I think you're seeing people hoping Taveras can end that for at least a couple of years...
