Excuse me if I am not ready to pencil in Leody just as starting CF opening day for the Rangers
I think it might be worth taking another look since we are still in a rebuild.

only because we have no one else ready and Garcia may be too valuable to chance putting him there
Nothing to lose. By the way, who said Garcia might get hurt.

even the thought of him blowing a hamstring or something playing CF should be concerning. with his size and muscularity and the amount of field to cover in CF we shouldn't gamble

Trout is a big guy and year it takes a wear and tear. Garcia is fine and this puts less pressure on the bat. He has proven he is a major leaguer and can play the position

Tavares totally looked overmatched at the MLB level. To me let’s see him prove it before another call up. If he does well by all means bring him up
I would rather band aid if the Rangers have Garcia at RF with a guy like Eli White. That too me as distasteful as it sounds is better than bridging with a less than stellar CF out in free agency

It has been said that the rangers out of perhaps necessity of brought their players up too soon. Leody, Huff probably pitching

Not sure this applies to Jung though. Wondering if there is anything else to learn exceptmaybe a second position if they don’t plan on him sticking at 3B for multiple years To me that is a long shot
As far as I am concerned, we can plan on Jung at 3B for the next 10 to 12 years.

I am not still 100% convinced we have struck gold with Garcias bat. Hope there is no sophomore slump now the book is out

Leody and Huff and some other guys were brought up in 2020 because there wasn't a minor league season. I have no problem with that.

me too. he isn't a Trout or close to it right now but he has the possibility of being an above average player. i guess we could trade for Gallo and play either him or Garcia in Center

I hope he pans out defensively and I am concerned Seager may need to go to 3B at some point t

I don't mind Leody or anyone else being a placeholder in CF this year. I want to see Josh Smith tried there at Frisco and Round Rock in 2022. After we see what he can do, we can then make plans for 2023 and beyond.

These may be bad examples. Was listening to Jeff Wilson podcast re approach but still Leody last year was a stretch. Thant was not 2020

So, you are saying you wouldn't back up the Brinks truck or the horse trailer to sign him to a long term deal? Lol

Well I am not ready to write Leody off and I think that sets him up to fail. He needs to earn the right to play in the majors. He can possibly still develop his bat

Especially not the horse trailer. Ha
But if we do sign him we need him to have a set position

The kid has played 481 games in the minors. It can no longer said that he is being rushed. He is just not that great.
