First Lou Brock and now Bob Gibson have passed away. Two guys as a kid I really followed in baseball. Gibson was some kind of pitcher. Saw batters fall backwards on the ground on his curve that ended up being a strike because he had a good fastball that he did not mind throwing inside. Tough competitor.

About 3 injuries ago, I thought Chris Seise might turn out to be our best prospect. It would be great if he could stay healthy and get back close to that status again. I am not anticipating that though.

I have seen two recent mock drafts that predict the Rangers will take local high school SS Jordan Lawlar with the second pick. One has Leiter going 4th and the other had him going 5th.

He has yet to pitch since being drafted. He is one of our draft picks from 2018 that we took the odd course of not letting them pitch that year. Then he came back from being shut down for a long period and promptly injured himself and had to have TJ surgery. That happened to two of our draft picks that we took that course of action with. Owen White was the other, I believe.

Those two guys, Ryan Garcia, Cole Ragans(again), and Vanasco all had to have TJ surgery within the last year and a half.

We have one of the worst position player groups in MLB history. Josh Jung might be the only guy in our system that profiles as a good hitter.

Even if that were not the case, this aint the NFL draft. You take the best player available.

The Rangers have made a lot of coaching personnel changes across the system over the last few years. They have changed managers twice. They have changed philosophies within their Minor leagues and other things as well. What they have not changed are the ones making the decisions to change things. That probably should have been done first.
