No More "Bullpen Failure"
Surely, they have finally come to their senses about Odor, and we have seen the last of him being in the starting lineup without an injury to our regular second baseman.
i think Elvis stays we need to concentrate on moving Odor not ElvisIt would be really good if we could trade him and let Tejada start everyday.
Then Tejada is out of a position.i think Elvis stays we need to concentrate on moving Odor not Elvis
Yes, we have the #2 pick. That last loss of ours kept even the convoluted possibility that Detroit would have to make up those games from mattering.Do we have the #2 pick? I thought I heard of some scenario today where Detroit could play 2 games and what happens if they lose both?
A Rod and Fielder were idiotic . What was JD and owners thinking?

My bad on ownership but money was spent just the same that effects current budgets. If I am correct we still are paying A Rod and will to 2024. Believe we finally are free of Fielder.Just wanted to point out that neither JD or current ownership had anything to do with A-Rod
Then JD should flaunt his great outstanding run production.Led the team in HR/RBI the last two years. Plus the contract.
I am not advocating for Odor to maintain his starting job, I'm just noting the things that are going to see him have it to start 2021. Done deal, barring a trade or release - neither of which I see happening.
Leading this team in a couple of offensive categories is not that much of an accomplishment.Led the team in HR/RBI the last two years. Plus the contract.

The contract is the only thing that has kept his starting this long and that is at least a year too long. At some point the embarrassment of allowing a bad contract to make decisions for you has to be so overwhelming that you do something about it. With what Odor was told a few days ago, I hope that means they have finally had enough of the embarrassment.

That, and that he should work on learning other positions in case he is a bench player.what was he told? the thing about the starting spot not being guaranteed?

All this is true but if we flaunt his HR's and RBI's for two yrs there may be a GM dumber than JD and grab him.shouldnt it matter at all that the guy always hits below .200, his defense at 2nd is questionable at best, and he never draws walks to boost the on base percentage?
he’s still a terrible player who the rest of MLB would not want anything to do with.

I get your point and it has merit but when you can't play your own position after three seasons, I have doubts he will learn much at other positions. Let's face it. Oder is not MLB caliber. That, and that he should work on learning other positions in case he is a bench player.
