No More "Bullpen Failure"
One is for the Rangers to sign Ozuna.
Elvis has vesting that kicks in if he gets enough playing time. That is one reason he may sit more this year. Re Tejeda IKF. I am not thinking that far ahead. Just trying to get through two more years.Eventually, I think both of those guys are bench players on a WS team. We are a long ways away from that now though.
I think they give Elvis another year at SS.
I can accept workable ideas. You seem to believe that the only part of my thought is them sitting on the bench for 60 games while your plan seems to only make moves when it is guaranteed that they play a minimum of 140 games a seasonI give up. You just can't stand the though of an idea that conflicts with yours even when your idea is in conflict with the history of how things have always been done, and have always been done that way for a good reason.
Maybe you will get your wish and Jung and Huff will sit on the bench for 60 games next year so we can try to ruin two more prospects.
Yes, 140 games a season because their development requires it. And like I said, each of our good prospects that I mentioned were handled that way. None of them had to ride the bench for 60 games. They started either here or in the minors for the vast majority of the games. They will not sit someone rated as high as Jung or Huff by making them bench players, unless those guys eventually prove themselves not worthy of that a year or two down the line. The bench will be made up of lesser prospects and/or veterans as usual.I can accept workable ideas. This offseason is the biggest crapshoot in many years with uncertainty of Covid and upcoming CBA negotiations.Ranking MLB's Top 50 Free Agents
Top 50 FAs and the most "sensible" destination. They only have one for the Rangers... Joc Pederson.
That may not happen until a couple of years from now.BTW we needed and need an elite power/solid contact hitter from the right side. This complements Gallo better. A guy like Rendon
If he is back as good as ever, he could change the outlook at SS significantly.
Seise back with some big pop
We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out. We are either going to waste money in the millions signing 3rd and 4th level FA’s and posting all these kids to the minors or spend the 2021 season letting these kids continue what we were doing at the end of last seasonYes, 140 games a season because their development requires it. Before JD gets in a big hurry to spend big on FA's, wait and see if Gallo can return to his old ways of producing HR and RBI's. Guzman had started to show signs of improving at seasons end. Combine that with Huff and Trevino's production and we might have something. Mediocre FA's are not the answer. Be patient in 2021 and define what we have or do not have and then spend.
We still need pitching at some point but that too may be in-house. Getting in a hurry will be a mistake. Proof is in the pudding at 2nd base.
Deep into 2021 we should have a clear picture of our needs and that is the time to invest in quality players. imo.
Agree but we have time to be patient since we are not going any where next year.Personally I don't think Gallo is ever going to be more than what he is.
i would rather see us lean on these kids this coming season than see us spend millions on mediocre FA's that even if we find another team to take them get minimal returnBefore JD gets in a big hurry to spend big on FA's, wait and see if Gallo can return to his old ways of producing HR and RBI's.
