Ibanez is not even on the 40 or top 30 prospects

My only point was he's the closest in the farm system to the big dance since he's already done decently in AAA and the others are all in A ball, at least 1-1/2-3 years away...

Lets see White doesn't have the bat, Solak doesn't have the arm, Joey hates playing 3rd so who does that leave?? Maybe shift Andrus to 3rd but then who's going to play SS? (Hence all the talk/angst about getting a FA 3B).

Definitely not a 5 in my view but it might grow to 3.5 to 4 depending on what else we do

To each their own... there was always a chance we didn't get Rendon, so us not getting him doesn't totally create the basis for my rating... now the way the rangers handled that has changed my perception of ownership and the front office

Maybe, but he's another LHed bat something we don't really need considering the positions he plays, BTA maybe they're looking at him for next year and playing LF when they think Choo will be gone and Willie will be the DH. Me personally I hope Heinemann can figure out how to hit MLB pitching and make finding a LFer a moot point for a few years.

One thing they do need to try to figure out this year is who is going to be their leadoff man in the near future?

He's a 1B, they're almost all left handed

Heineman is not very good IMO, but you can hope your ass off

Mine is based on what we do prior to opening day. Right now we are not close to being ready so my rating is .75

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Angels are now out on Corey Kluber.
The Angels and Padres were the two most active clubs in discussions for Kluber along with the Rangers and Dodgers. It's unclear if this decision is the Angels simply being unwilling to meet the Indians' asking price, or if the Tribe is close to dealing the star right-hander elsewhere.

The Angels consistently way overspend/overpay so I doubt they flinched at the Indians requirements, their latest FUBAR was paying Matt Harvey 11M last year when they could have probably gotten him for 2M. And then you have Pujols and Hamilton... lol My guess is Rendon will regret going to LAA long before his contract is over with.

it’s hard to believe with rendon’s Texas background that he really wanted the angels over us.

unless the guy has been infected with the Inexplicable hatred that Houston has for DFW teams. He did grow up there. It seemed like a great fit with us tho, he could play closer to home, and do some damage against his hometown team. I guess he didn’t feel the same way tho.

After seeing the behavior of our front office over the last week or so, do more people believe me when I say that the front office is forcing Odor into the lineup?

I really do think woodward can’t be that stupid to actually want to play Odor every single day. I know Odor was banny’s favorite player and he pretty much got away with murder while Banny was here.

I think JD is working with major restrictions set by ownership
I am not going to assume that. I think he has to be held reapomsible.

If I am going to let JD off the hook when bad things happen, then I can't give him credit when good things happen. I never gave the owners credit for the Cliff Lee trade or the Beltre acquisition.

I blame the owners and JD. I think they all need to go. They just can't do the job.

I agree he shares some of the responsibility but most of the responsibility lies on the shoulders of the owners who sets the rules and the financial levels of operations.

I am not pushing politics Ha. Just thought it interesting.

Will say this much ownership in MLB is not a shining example of free enterprise.... we shall see what concessions are made and if there is actual negotiations.
