I missed it. Saw Devils looked much better through two periods, but Carolina looks pretty good.

Just saw Max Domi bury the OT winner for Toronto. Ottawa with some lazy defense, but they actually looked much better.

And Florida putting it on Tampa Bay. And Cirelli out for Tampa Bay, which is really bad for them.

7. Los Angeles Kings

The oddsmakers still had them as slight underdogs heading into Game 1, despite having home ice advantage. That has to sting, but it will sting a lot worse if they lose to the Oilers for the fourth year in a row.

After all, the Oilers aren’t going anywhere. And with the playoff format as it is now, the Kings are going to have to beat them to get anywhere meaningful. If that’s not possible, then … well, what are we doing here?

If they lose, it will be … a demoralizing confirmation that they just don’t have a path out of the Pacific during the Connor McDavid era.

I think as Kings fans and knowing it's been 8 years with Bowlby at the wheel, I would ratchet that ranking up quite a bit. Year 8 of Dumbo two Cups, year 8 of Blake hoping to get out of the first round. I almost feel like the Kings are Hurricanes West.

Also tells me these fools don't have a pulse on western teams much.

Tight game, but actually great goaltending from what I saw. Teams had lots of chances, but goalies really stood on their heads.

Good game, switched over after the Kings game. Goalies were outstanding.

You guys are gonna hate me even more, but I really see a good chance LA gets worked tomorrow. If that happens I think they collapse at home. The table is set, that 3rd period was enough for me to fire Jill....no excuse. These lapses end of g1 and now g3 show a weakness that will be hard to beat. Losing while playing yor game is totally acceptable, its going to happen. Losing while being stupid and trying to let the other team play their game on top of not doing anything that made you successful is completely and utterly unacceptable at any level and hes done it twice in 3 games. When the opponent is done and given up as in g2 with 6 or 7min left you can see the fight gone...sure let up and run out the clock. That fight was never gone in g1 and 3 and gave the Oil the confidence to know they can overcome LA as if they needed more. Until LA beats Edmonton they havent and I now dont think they do and get embarrassed while us fans get to hear about it for 10 years. They got me, I was excited but no matter how different we think it is, it just became the same in an instant. Hope im wrong, but I dont think LA wins another.

Legitimate concern, I'm actually in the same boat. The Kings lose G4, this series will not end well for LA.

G2 showed us they can win playing Kings hockey, they didn't let off the gas and methodically beat Edmonton down. The third periods in G1 and G3 showed what happens when you lay off the throttle and let a team back in, and any team with a McJesus and Draisaitl can take it back just like that like they showed.

That challenge was completely inexplicable, no need for that at all. It's tied 4-4, plenty of time to reestablish yourself, at worst OT. Baffling decision that cost them the game.

I expected a split in Edmonton, it's put up or shut up time tomorrow. If the Kings collapse this time around, it will cement Blake's failure as a GM. Hoping the Kings pull this off tomorrow.

Taking out the Knights would make the road a little easier for LA, but facing either Colorado or Dallas would be rough. But the Kings just need to do their part and eliminate Edmonton.

If they seriously do that they are trolling the Kings, I agree with the gamesmanship. Good humor.

But those ladies sound like every other Canadian housewife I know. Kazoos should be globally banned.
