Then at AAA, the line of reinforcements starts with either Hearn or Ragans and then the other one. To me Allard and Arihara are ahead of Keuchel at this point, but that is subject to change
I don’t want Ragan’s to come up out of necessity but when he has earned it and is 100% ready. But I’d Allard comes up ahead of Keuchel in a mop up role, that is fine with me

Would be totally surprised if Keuchel came up and blew it out

I have never been a fan of taking pitches just to be taking them, whether it is the leadoff guy or anyone else in the batting order. There isn't anything more frustrating than to watch a hitter take the first pitch when it is down the middle just because it is the first pitch.
Ok unless he is looking for something else but yeah if middle of plate surely that’s a pitch you want

That is why I worded what I said the way I did. If they needed someone right away it should be Hearn. If Ragans continues to pitch close to what he did last time out, I would move him to the front of the line after another start or two.

Yes the book is not closed on Hearn. He has good stuff but still not polished. It would be a mistake to write him off even as a starter immediately

Why? The more Houston gives up from their future to help them this year, the weaker they will be in the future when we are better.

That’s a good point and I like it lol

I have put it this way in the past when folks have mentioned wanting to work the pitcher by taking a lot of pitches to get his pitch count up. I would rather wear a pitcher out with hits, than to wear him down by trying to get his pitch count up.

Of course. But taking borderline strikes 3-1 is not bad and fouling of pitches driving pitchers nuts is good too. Just my viewpoint

Curious.. what do y’all think Ohtani’s AAV will be?
Good hitter and pitcher.
I’m thinking about $50 million a year

Thomas Saggase has his OPS up to .875 for Hickory. He was drafted 2 years ago in the 5th round. He has played, 2B, SS and 3B since being drafted.

Calhoun lifted for Solak because Kole has been absolute trash for weeks and weeks. Let's see what Nick can do

Nothing, he did absolutely nothing which is what Calhoun would have done but why the F is Calhoun starting every day? I would rather have someone in the starting lineup to begin with, that gives you a chance vs bringing a spare in that has been in the minors for that AB and ask him to do something.

Then Duran flies out on the first pitch. :L

Because the manager loves him.
