You're a lightweight junior. I soundly defended my stance and destroyed your idiotic ideas and i did all that while predicting what you would say next. You deserve no more of the genius's time.
Nonsense!!! I thoroughly enjoy my banter with you. Therefore, we must, I say MUST continue to have our dialogue together. BTW, which nickname do you prefer? If you can't decide I'll just rotate in all three.

Saw this on another forum thought this was an interesting nugget.

Something new and interesting from Diane Russini during a podcast she was a part of. Is she speculating or does she know? Seems unlikely she'd come out with this if it couldn't be confirmed. As for the other I believe a coaching change is pretty obvious but I'm far less convinced about a change of GM.

“You have new leadership there. You have Kevin Warren who is overseeing all of it, and he’s got a lot of power over this organization. And he made the decision to keep Eberflus as the head coach. That was his call. He was part of that decision-making. Maybe this is his big move, you know after this season, we have to get Caleb the right guy.”
Well, that is certainly an eye-opening nugget from The Athletic’s senior NFL insider. On the one hand, Russini offering up Bears President Kevin Warren as the singular figure responsible for the team retaining Matt Eberflus as its head coach (1) is pretty damning and (2) gives fans someone to point the finger at and blame. But on the other hand, Russini suggests that it could be Warren leading the charge and taking the opportunity to line up the quarterback, head coach, and general manager. Could that happen as soon as this offseason?

I wouldn’t doubt Warren has been calling the shots. However, I think the GM is safe for 1 more year. On the other hand, I think the HC should be fired yesterday. I’m hoping they don’t let Poles pick a HC and then the FO shit cans poles the following year. Maybe the plan is to get rid of Poles and the coaching staff. It would make more sense than just firing the HC.

As much as I hate to say it Chicago may have to retain Poles. There has to be one holdover who is invested in Caleb's development. With BOTH a new HC and GM neither one would want to see it through because he wasn't there guy and will want to move on at the first sign of trouble. At least RP will want to make it work because Williams is his hand selected quarterback.

I think you see it all wrong. Williams should attract good GMs and HCs who want to build and develop a quality team around a superstar QB.

We were saying the same thing about Fields.... and The Bears are in the same cycle again.☹️

Fields was never the same quality of passer that Williams already is. I think plenty of people outside of the organization understood he was a game manager with dangerous legs. Williams is much different. However, I do agree. The bears are screwing up Williams. However, I think he will attract offensive HCs who want to tie their wagon to him as a QB. If Poles gets shitcanned (which I’m half and half on merely due to the circumstances the team faces more so than his performance) then I think it will attract quality GM candidates for the same reasons.

I blame Ted Phillips for that. There were some quality coaches available last year. I realize that not all of them were favorites of this board. But my guess is that in Ted's mind, strong, controversial personalities like Jim Harbaugh and Sean Payton would have been bigger than Ted. He cant have that.

Aside from neglecting the trenches, (particularly the o-line), and retaining dumbfuck Eberflus last offseason, I like what Poles has done. I don't even really care about the couple of FA misses.

He flipped the roster pretty well and relatively quickly. The fleece of Caroline was sweet.

I think they should keep Poles. I couldn't really give any fucks about Warren. And Eberflus, like you said, should be gone now.

The problem we face with Poles is if he fails to build up the OLine this offseason, he’s going to get fired next offseason. Then we run the risk of Williams being on his fourth offensive coordinator in 3 years

Not sure how Poles could neglect that line this offseason.......you cant turn on any tupe of NFL talk without them talking how bad that line is.....

I tend to think theres zero chance that he doesnt overhaul it.........

If he overhauls it and it still is bottom of the league, I think he’s gone.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) weekly grades O-lines, and the Bears have graded out fairly average thru the first 10 weeks. Not great. But not last.

The O-line is an easy target for radio chatter. And I'm not suggesting Poles ignores it, but he probably looks at analytics of those grades over what he'd hear from the media.

My guess he addresses the O-line mainly thru free agency. Proven blockers.

Yeah, those grades are garbage when our QB is the most sacked QB in the league by far.

We were missing both our starting tackles against the Pats which accounts for 9 of those.

I still think Jones and Wright are good Tackles. Jenkins WOULD be good, if he could stay healthy.

I don't see any reason they can't stock up in this next draft and FA and have a decent line. Much of the issues I've seen from the o-line the last few years have been as much shitty schematics and play calling as anything. Look how much better they looked this week vs a much better d line. Much of that was play calling and design.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Braxton Jones get replaced in the starting line up, he looks more like a good back up to me. Jenkins looks like he will never be healthy.

Also, the offensive line lost the packers game on that field goal block. I also remember a few plays where the OLine looked invisible and the packers had several rushers get to Williams unimpeded in the last quarter. Statistically, they looked better, but I’m not so sure this game is turning the corner.

Part of the success against the packers was due to them not knowing what to expect in the bears offensive scheme. I’m not ready to crown Thomas Brown as a quality OC, I see him more of a curve ball after Shane waldron was more of a fastball. Now the batters (opposing offenses) are expecting curve balls.

We’re on the same page about rebuilding the OLine this off-season though.

Oh I agree, but if us fans can see whats going on,how does the coaches do not know whats going on........its so damn obvious.

Poles knows that if something is not done,he is.

Its a team effort tho, Fudge. Before the Packers games, Caleb was waiting almost 5 seconds to throw. An O-line that gives a QB 4+ seconds cant be the worst. And our receivers gotta get separation.

All those team pieces improved this last game.

I know players always become available, but I'm not liking our prospects at "fixing the line" this offseason. Draft is looking pretty weak is my understanding and we all know how FA goes.

Speaking of...That Connor Williams guy that everyone was saying we should take a shot on this past offseason f*cking retired midseason. Apparently he was playing well and was just like "yep, I'm out." Ouch.

I still have some hope for Kramer at center, but I am sure they will sign two more guards to play center this spring.

Between Jones, Kiran, Wright and Borom I think we can have a solid 5. That block Jones threw on the linebacker to break the Swift run was a thing of beauty. I guess good things happen when a QB does not make you block for 5 seconds every play.
