It is, except in one area where it is just as bad... The O line.
Based on what? The Bears have finished in the division cellar every year since Poles took over. At least one of Pace's teams won the division and made an additional playoff appearance. I'll give Poles Odunze and Moore, who hasn't had his best season this year, but how many players on the current squad strikes you as a Pro-Bowler; a superstar? At least Pace got Mooney, Mack, Allen Robinson, Montgomery, Quinn, and Roquan Smith. I was able to list these guys off the tip of my head. And it's a bit telling that Poles has spent an abundance of resources on the defense and the best player in it is Jaylon Johnson who was drafted by Pace?

If Poles' squad is so much more superior then why are they finishing dead last every single season? Outside of the Carolina deal, which he only got because Lovie Smith wanted to win so Hous wouldn't get the number one pick, he hasn't done anything note worthy or bring The Bears to prominence? In his fourth year the team shouldn't still be a disaster, looking just as bad as his first.

To add to it, when we do win under Poles, as rare as it is, it’s almost always a shit team with. Shit qb or some other issue going on with them.

The Lions, Vikes and Pack are 26-8 combined!!! They are the better (if not the best) teams in the conference.

Those 3 are 9-4 just in their own division!!

Its not like Poles is off the hook, but all season long this board has lamented the coaching. From the development of Caleb (i.e. Waldron) to the infuriating and frustrating in-game coaching decisions (Eberflus).

Coaching is more of the reason for the record. Not Poles.

Pro bowlers, LB (1), Safety (1) but is injured now. Nickle back (1) best in the league, Johnson, CB, Punter (possible pro bowler).

Close: Swift, but there r runners behind much better O lines.

Problem with the skilled Offensive players? O line sucked in combination with a Rookie QB. Williams has a great ceiling, he will be fine, but everything hinges upon the O line that can't protect a QB adjusting to the speed & defenses of the NFL. He was destined to hold the ball too long. 59 sacks later, fired OC later, fired HC later, who knows. Obviously, Allen has had a pro Bowl type Career, we have seen what DJ is capable of, rare a rookie WR hits the pro bowl.

Wait....are you saying Swift is close to being a Pro Bowler?
I'm saying he could be in the running with a better o line, yes. He does a lot of things really well, great hands, good vision, good speed. Give the kid some blocking he could rack up the yards. Also, he would need to have Roshan hurt for more goal line touches. Now I did not say HoF...

good vision

lol…..really?

So when there’s a whole and he runs straight into a defender instead….to you that’s good vision?

Either you don’t watch or don’t know what you’re watching. Either way you’re wrong.

Well, if that is your basis, Walter Payton didn't have good vision either and he's in the Hall.

Swift has a grand total of 5 broken tackles this year. He breaks a tackle every 44 attempts. He leads the league in forced tackles and running out of bounds behind the LOS.

Putting Walter Payton's name with his is fucking absurd. In many ways.

I seriously question that you actually watch football. Because anyone paying attention would tell you that vision is probably Swift's biggest weakness.

Swift's biggest weakness is the O line.

Walter didn't shy away from contact, he often initiated it. Did you watch him play?

There is nothing wrong with Swift's game, he is the correct RB for this system except at the goal line and only because of #1, the O line can't block for shit and because of #1, ball is handed to a much bigger back who can help push the inferior O line towards the endzone.

Swift's biggest weakness is the O line.

Yes, it's terrible. It was last year too. And the year before. And the year before. In fact the last time you could call the Bears offensive line good is in the pretty distant past. But we've had backs perform far better than Swift is this season. So please explain that.

Walter didn't shy away from contact, he often initiated it. Did you watch him play?

That's actually categorically false. Payton didn't run out of bounds. He also tried to get every yard he could but he actively avoided contact via being dodgy and using the best stiff arm the game has ever seen.

I watched every game of his entire career. Never missed one and saw a bunch of them live.

Again....bringing Sweetness up in a conversation about Swift is just fucking retarded. It's amazing that you think typing that is a good response. Amazing in the most awful way possible.

There is nothing wrong with Swift's game,

On contrary...there's a lot wrong.
he is the correct RB for this system

The system is retarded. Like you.

So if that's what you're aiming for then sure. But I prefer better.

What exactly do you think this system is? I'm just curious.

If Swift is good why does he have only 2.2 yards per run before contact and only 5 broken tackles on the season? I'd love an intelligent response that simply isn't coming.

Those comments being left about Poles,is as damning as what was said about Eberfluss......

Yeah, i dont necessarily agree with them. Folks are looking for someone to blame. Theyre entitled to where they want to point the finger.

I still think Poles has built a better, cap-friendly team (compared to before he took over) and acquired draft picks. He's had some misses for sure. But i think Warren has been zero help. And from what I've read, McCaskey has thrown a few vetoes Poles' way as well (i.e. firing Eberflus sooner).

Given Poles' position in the pecking order, cant see him throwing the McCaskeys or Warren under the bus - so he takes the heat.

Poles imo is doing well considering the lack of help from the execs above him. No garauntee the next GM does any better.

Poles getting banged on.....again:

I got your back.

I am starting to think that Ben Johnson might be a disappointment in Chicago. It looks to me like an organization that didn’t clean house when it should have and now has everyone involved pointing their fingers at everyone else involved is about to put all of their eggs in the Ben Johnson basket to turn it around. And Ben Johnson has no experience as a HC.
