That would help continue the rivalry. He went after bb and the pats in ny. Would be an i interesting hire.

After listening to that presser the other day with SF's FO, it doesn't seem to me that Rex Ryan would be interested in dealing with a pinhead like York, but maybe $$ can convince him to give it a chance. Regardless of what a mess things are/were in NY, Ryan's a good coach.

This is NOT the coach I want San Fran to pick up. Look, Ryan is a dork but the guy knows how to run a defense and was decent with New York while being given NOTHING to work with. Geno Smith and Eric Dekcer? LOL, that's like casting Jaden Smith and Jake Lloyd to do a film and expect a blockbuster hit.

Hopefully San Fran doesn't like this guy, I could see him doing some nasty things with the current scheme in San Fran and if he continues the trend hitting on DL, bleh.

Anyone who dislike San Fran should be TERRIFIED of Rex there. Him and Vic Fangio? :omg:

Seems to me the 49ers need a coach that can help the offense. Their defense was still playing well despite injuries and such. So if they hire Ryan, I say fine, the 49ers will have a good defense and a worthless offense. I can live with that.

Good defenses always give us fits though, and good defenses ALWAYS make a competitive game (generally). I don't want that with the 9ers. I already have enough ulcers developed from the Rams/Cards this year.

IMO, Rex would be a better fit in Atl. They have a QB and a solid set of WR's, just need to fix the O-line and then let Rex go to work and rebuild the defense.

Yeah, I think he's a better fit for the Falcons. There is a team that needs to improve their defense and Ryan would do that.

The 49ers have a good DC. They need help on offense, don't you think?

lets see, Rex goes there and the 49ers Defense stays about the same and the offense would get even worse. Sure i am all for it lmao.

9ers fans should riot if they ran Harbaugh out of town for Rex Ryan.

Good point man, but I think Ryan is a top 3 defensive coach. My point is, I'd rather face a great offensive coach than a defensive one.

If they hired Ryan, I dont see Fangio staying. That being said I think they go with an offensive guy

Is Mike Shanahan the favorite to land the 49ers job?

I saw this and thought I'd share with everyone. Shannahan is an interesting thought, though I honestly wouldn't have thought of him for this. But, maybe they thought he did such a good job making RGIII relevant in the NFL that couldn't hurt to give him a shot with Kaep.

I would hate to see them get Holmgren... I get the feeling Mike has the itch to get back into the game... I was listening to him on the radio talk Seahawks football and he seemed different... had his game face on a bit ... I expect someone to give him a shot ..

"Chris Russell of ESPN 980 reports that the Redskins have been denied permission to speak to 49ers DC Vic Fangio.
However, Ian Rapoport reports that San Francisco did receive permission to speak with 49ers defensive backs coach Ed Donatell about their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Rapoport adds that this is “big” for Washington, as the 49ers previously blocked him from interviewing with the Saints two years ago.
Albert Breer reports that the Chargers have also granted the Redskins permission to interview LB coach Joe Barry for their defensive coordinator job."

Man, talk about being the opposite of Seattle. I understand you want a good coaching staff, but shouldn't you also want what's best for your coaches?

Scratch that, I guess the skins were gonna interview him for their DC position, so it isn't like he was gonna be the head coach there.
