Colbra got our only victory in that series and he won't pitch in this one. Hamels will take the hill for the first time as a Ranger. Hoping to win a home series, looks like we face MadBum, Hudson and Heston. Go Rangers!

I wonder if we are going to stand pat and not make any more moves? I thought if Gallardo was going to be traded that he would have been traded before his start on Thursday. I guess we will find out in the next 14 hours.

I still think he gets moved, just don't think the return will be much

Some notes I saw on DMN

RF Jairo Beras went 4-for-5 and is hitting .349 for 106 at-bats in July
Garia, a 22-year-old switch-hitter, has 10 hits in his last 23 at-bats.
SS Hanser Alberto had three hits and is 8-for-13 in the last 13 games.

Hamels blocked going to Houston but waived his no trade to Giants. We offered more obviously but hope he really wants to be here and is motivated

I am not "totally informed" on Hamels. But he sure seems like a guy who shows up to work, gives a 100%, great teammate, and I have no worries at all he'll be motivated to succeed here.

And Beras is a right handed hitter. That seems to be somewhat unusual for Ranger prospects.

The Blue Jays continue to add pieces for a second half run. They've added reliever Mark Lowe in a trade with the Mariners.

Would be ashamed if he helps blow another WS

About 90 minutes to go and nothing new on the trade front in quite some time.

That WS got blown twice before Lowe got in that game.

Gallardo's last 3 starts have been ass, so I'd be surprised if he gets traded.

Yeah, I agree. He screwed-our-pooch if we thought we could get something for him.

But hey, ya never know, there's still a few hours for some GM to freak and make a horrid decision. JD will definitely answer the phone. ha ha

2:05pm: It doesn’t sound like the Rangers are getting any offers to their liking, as Heyman tweets that at this time, it appears that they may hold onto Gallardo.

Well, a compensation pick is better than nothing.

:pound:.....I was starting to wonder if we even knew what one would look like.

And ya know what else? This comment illustrates why Ryan Rua is more important/valuable to our organization than he is too anyone else.

Play this guy "somewhere" on a regular basis for the rest of this season and let's see what we think of him as a RH bat, potential-full time LF, a "jack-of-all-trades" super-utility INF, or maybe even a 2nd or 3rd baseman.

But PLAY him and then we'll all know.

My take is that a compensation pick is better than the offers we're getting, apparently.

Sure wish Gallardo could have saved that franchise-record scoreless stretch for right now.
