By the way Sale is under control for 5 years I think. At a cheap cost. Potentially more value than profar

Until his elbow blows up and then where's your value?

That's unlikely but we will see

Are you really that thick headed? Experts say its actually quite likely to happen. I've been telling you that for two pages.

Sale will be in the same spot Neftali Feliz is in now within 2 years, with the same issue huge amount of torque on the elbow with that throwing motion. It was talked about w Feliz and has been talked about w Sale, it will happen. I'm not for giving up 4 great prospects for a guy w 18 months of rehab in his future

That has been one of the issues I have with Feliz. I am afraid he will always have arm problems. This is his first long DL stint but has had issues the past 2 years for short periods of time.

I was surprised to see the number of pitchers who have had the surgery. I also felt all along that what is going on during their youth has had much to do with the arm issues today even though pitchers pitch less at the MLB level. Part of a comment that I copied below I also found interesting.

I can't seem to find the quote, but I remember reading an interview with Warren Spahn where he was asked what the secret to his longevity was. I'm paraphrasing but Spahn replied "I never touched a weight in my life". He claimed not lifting weights allowed his arm to remain as loose as a rubber band and allowed him to pitch until the lights went out.

A concern of likely arm troubles was also talked about concerning Tanner Sheppers after a stress fracture in his shoulder BEFORE he was drafted which caused several teams to pass on him. There is nobody in or outside of baseball that can predict the likelihood of future pitching injuries. As far as Feliz goes, the only thing I remember discussed about him when he first came up was how easy he made throwing 100 mph look.

If the Rangers sign him ill have confidence he could produce here. Will be interesting to see how he does.

If they sign him you can bet they did their homework.

I would think so

Any player looking to get a contract around 60 million dollars, you can rest assured there have been plenty of scouts watching for awhile

If that dude expects a 60 million dollar deal he better be ready to step in and be a #2.
