Also, Samardzija or however the balls you spell his name is great. He hasn't even hit his ceiling yet. Getting better and learning how to pitch more every year. Would love to have him. He's gott be the cubbies most expensive player though. It would take pretty much the farm to get him I imagine

I'm not convinced samardzjia is that good. Wrigley helps every pitchers numbers in April and may, he walks too many batters, and he's sporting a 4.06 ERA. Thanks but that doesn't scream major upgrade.

I consider Yu in the top 10 pitchers in baseball. He's just still gotta adjust to how the game is pitched over here. You got a power fastball, quit being too cute with hitters... that being said sale would make a great 1b to the rotation. I consider Garza more of like a 2b

People at Lonestarball think Yu is a Ace and one of the best in baseball. Although they put to much emphasis on FIP, xFIP and WAR cause that's not the reality of baseball. It wont even matter if a guy has a FIP of 2.58 if his ERA is 4.52 I rather have the guy that's performing 2.58 ERA with a 4.52 FIP

I thought thats what youre thoughts were of him? I think of him as a #1

He's not pitching like a true ace. He certainly has the ability to be, but an ace doesn't give up bombs to shit batters time after time, and doesn't lose leads so consistently when he's given them.

Until we give up a chunk of our farm to get sale and his elbow explodes.

I really doubt sale is gonna get hurt in the next 3 years. That's really all we need him for.

I'm talking about that throwing motion that puts every ounce of stress on his elbow.

But im also not sure if he really will get injured some people just have the genetics to throw like that. Randy Johnson for instance looked ugly throwing.

Several experts have commented that he'll be injuring that elbow if he keeps up with that sane motion. I don't want to take the chance.

aroldis chapman doesn't necessarily throw with great throwing mechanics. He does look like he slings it at times but its also apparent that he uses his lower body as much as possible to take stress off of his upper body. The momentum that he gains from his violent leg kick takes pressure of of his arm

Aroldis chapman has been in the league 2.5 years and isn't throwing 190+ innings every season.

Still cant be sure though

I'm not willing to deal the farm because we can't be sure he won't injure himself even though the evidence strongly suggests he will.

He sort of is like a left handed tim lincecum. Lincecum hasnt been getting hurt...but obviously hes declined exponentially

Lincecum has declined quite a bit and he's not like lincecum at all. Those throwing motions are nothing alike. For one thing, lincecum's throwing motion relies on his flexibility and puts a lot of stress through his back.
