TR sullivan wrote an article saying the rangers definitely wont give up martin perez for garza, but carlos pimental was a more likely target! I just thought it was so cool cuz I witnessed them scouting him and I guess what our suspicions were are true!

Surely Epstein didn't think he was gonna get Perez for garza. Time to play the wait and see game.

No way Matt Moore should of made the all star team over holland

Yep, Holland deserved it, but I can't say I'm upset he's not pitching this game.

Boy, the administrators are really touch on this site.

It's a private site and I'm sure they didn't appreciate you trying to pull posters to another site.

Isn't Pimentel in his 4th straight year in AA? I don't see why he's such a significant piece. But if he's instrumental in getting us Garza, good for us I say.

I've really lightened up on chris sale though. Like I would trade just about anyone to get him. I know people say "no way he stays healthy" well in my opinion, he's gonna be fine for AT LEAST 3 years. That's really all we need him for right? Trade whoever we can to get him and rios if they are available. Eat all of Rios' salary just to make it more enticing for the sox. Keep gallo alfaro brinson and perez. Don't care about the others when it comes to the names we're throwing around here. Sale is dominant.

I wouldn't give up Perez for Garza, but Sale is a different bag of beans. For Sale and Rios, I could see Profar, Perez, Gentry and Olt. Maybe steep, but that's a trade that could land us back in the World Series, and nearly everyone on that list is blocked when everyone on the Rangers is healthy. That's a JD type of blockbuster as well

Does anyone still see the possibility of Stanton getting traded. I mean obviously I'm on board with it, but I hate getting so into the idea that I could disappointed when it doesnt happen (and at this point I'm almost positive it wont) You guys read the trade rumors more than me though so I haven't heard the recent news

I seriously don't see Stanton being moved, as Florida has proved they could compete in the next couple years with Stanton and Fernandez and the other guys around them doing fairly well this year. Don't see them selling Stanton unless a team is willing to give up their entire farm plus MLB ready players to et him

C.Sale with Yu, Dutch and Ogando/Colby would be pretty darn formidable in the playoffs but the Whitesox are going to want a ton in return for a 24 year old dominating Lh pitcher. Just do not see J.Daniels giving up what it would cost to get Sale. It would definitely start with giving up Perez and Profar with atleast another top tier prospect as well.
Rios would probably be more feasible to obtain and like you said said eat his salary and give up as little as possible in the way of prospects.
Btw I would add Nick Williams to your list of keepers. Kid has huge upside and is already starting to show why he has a very good chance to be the Rangers starting LF in the not too distant future

I would still be reluctant to include Perez and Profar as part of a package for Sale and Rios, not that I am any expert on such matters. Whenever I think about Perez's start at St. Louis a couple of weeks ago, hear about how highly rated a prospect both he and Profar are, and then look at what Chris Davis is doing this year, it makes me very nervous about giving up too much young talent. At the same time, Sale and Rios certainly would figure to improve our chances of winning this year.

why is it that when I suggest getting Sale in a package with Profar and Perez I get crucified for just the thought of it, yet others are now talking about the same thing and no one even has the slightest negative remark for it?

I'm still 100% opposed to it.

I have only read the last page of this thread, since it is so long and I only joined the board a couple of days ago. That said, I suspect that "crucified" is rather strong language. Besides, anything that anyone posts about such a deal is something based solely on that person's opinion about inherently unpredictable future events. You know the old saying about how widely distributed opinions are, don't you?

The White Sox would be too

I think that is probably right. I heard that the CWS GM said that Sale is the only player that they would not deal. While such statements can easily be attributed to trying to drive up the price of a player, Sale is a youngster with so much promise that I think the GM is likely telling the truth about him.

I don't know why they wouldn't try to get a lot for him. Every other team in the league I'd say he is untouchable. But I think the White Sox might be in worse shape than any team in the league. At least Houston has young guys and young guys that are getting some playing time. Miami same thing, they have some young talent. But the White Sox have nothing going for them in any way at all. They have a terrible farm system and their players on the active roster are mostly old or bad contracts, no one has value expect Sale to bring back a lot of young talent. Usually you build around a guy like Sale, but the White Sox have too much to build.

That was quick and tidy. RIP ESPN. Talk about outside looking in. I see no way to leave a comment. What's this all about Facebook. This IS some kind of conspiracy. Sad.
