It all depends on what garza costs as a rental. One reason there's more emphasis on him being a rental is the rule mlb implemented two years ago that no longer awards teams a first round compensation pick if their A type rental player walks in the winter. Dempster didn't really cost much so it wasn't a big deal. They're talking about Olt being involved for garza. Big difference.

Kinda weird that FA Starting pitcher shy away from , won't even consider, Rangers and RPIA, ( Jet stream) . Yet, FA Relief pitchers come in and are just Lights out, O'Day, Mike Adams, Joe Nathan , Uhara, Frazer, Cotts.

Its not a park issue. It's a perception issue. There's been a perception that you can't pitch at rbia a lot longer than the culture change since Nolan and JD have taken over with an emphasis on pitching.

I saw that as well. Think that was the prevailing thought all along. Losing Cruz would be devasting to this offense just as we saw with not having kinsler for several weeks.

TR sullivan wrote an article saying the rangers definitely wont give up martin perez for garza, but carlos pimental was a more likely target! I just thought it was so cool cuz I witnessed them scouting him and I guess what our suspicions were are true!
