I would rather have neffi in the bullpen. I think if you can add a good power arm for that number 3 spot in the rotation you gotta try and sign him. Especially since he would be one of our better pitchers if you look at his numbers across the board.

i agree the rangers wont need to resign garza. plus, they could probably resign lewis if they wanted to (depending in if/and when if he returns this season and how well he pitches) the rangers should be able to sign him on the cheap. maybe like a 2 for 8-10 (4-5 a year)

If Feliz can be an effective he starter he's much more valuable to this team as a starter.

I'd be shocked if it even cost that much to re-sign him. Though there's no guarantee they'd even want to.

my projection was based on lewis returning this season and pitching to about 85% to his capability. if he doesnt return this season, or struggles. than they'd probably only offer a one year deal for around 2.5 ish

Not interested in colby unless its a very cheap, one year, incentives laden deal.

We wouldn't need him to. Next year we've got the following rotation candidates rotation of Darvish, Holland, Harrison, Feliz, Perez, Ogando

You forget Colby?? He is a leader for these young pups.
Harrison is a Giant ? 2 Back surgery's , man , that's a Lot to recover from.Touchy, Touchy
Feliz with TJ surgery, Work ethic Questionable, Soria took 2 full years to recover.
Ogando is a Big if , Stamina, Arm Health
Colby, is the Bulldog here, hoping he regains his form:hope::hope::hope::hope::hope:

colby was an innings eater with no recent history of injury. he should still be a more than solid pitcher for a few more years

I agree. If he returns and pitches fairly effectively, I wouldn't mind offering him 2 years in the 10-12 range.

I'm not counting on Colby until he shows he can come back and get big league hitters out, and he's not signed for next year anyways.

Supposedly the prognosis on Harrison is good for next year.

Soria had a second tommy John surgery. Feliz's work ethic is in question, but the kid can pitch.

I listed 6 possible starters not counting Colby or even another guy like Tepesch who could make big strides next year. We don't need to be spending money and giving up picks for someone like garza next year.

Problem with that deal is that I don't think Philly would take that, and if they did they wouldn't eat much salary.

That wouldn't interest Philly and lee is owed a ton of money. Philly would have to eat a chunk of that to interest me and the prospect package would be higher. You might have a start with something involving Olt since they'll be needing a 3b very soon, and Ramirez and pimental are possibilities. Probably have to have Olt and one of those and a higher tier prospect. Not sure it would be worth it.

Also, lee would have to agree to the trade and Texas is on his no trade list. My personal opinion, let him stay in Philly with Michael Young and his leadership since he decided to open his mouth about how we mistreated him so badly.

i would much rather give up olt for multiple years of a great pitcher than half a year for a good pitcher

Olt, Grimm would probably be the two best that we give up for lee because of his contract. Not only that, but they would eat part of it. I think its fine to go out and get him. We arent paying any of our pitchers a huge amount of money anyway

Sorry, but you're way off base. You're not getting lee for Olt and Grimm and you're sure as hell not getting them to eat salary for them.

I don't agree with that. They HAVE to eat salary for lee otherwise no one is gonna want him. That being said, as bad as grimm has been lately his april shows much promise. Olt is probably gonna be playing for philly next year if he goes to them. Plus we have so many other interesting pieces that they could want like gentry, ramirez, buckel, bonilla, and garcia

You are assuming the Phillies have to trade him, then?

If we trade Lee we either take on all salary, or if they eat any of it then I'm sure the price starts at something like Olt + Perez + a few other top prospects not named Profar.

You can disagree and that's fine. But I'm telling you that Olt+Grimm will not bring lee here, and they sure wouldn't eat salary for those two. Gentry isnt that interesting. Hes a fourth OF and defensive replacement. Buckel's trade value is in the dumps right now. You can believe me or not. I really don't care, but anyone with a real understanding will agree with me.
