I'm not so sure about that. Murphy used to be the 4th outfielder and Wash would keep him in the lineup when he got on a hot streak. Beltre is in some games, and I think if he got hot, Wash would keep him in. What has Beltre had, 20 at-bats maybe? Good average. No home runs. Not enough to pull the plug on Murphy yet. We just don't have a lot of options out there right now. We don't have the potent line-up we used to have.

Really? 3.5 months of pure garbage isn't enough to pull the plug on Murphy and give a talented young player with superior defense a chance? You were probably all for keeping young in the middle of the order last year too I suppose.

When is Baker going to be back? I'd rather put him out there everyday.

Or run a platoon with him and Beltre. Baker plays LF and hits against lefties. Beltre plays cf and hits against righties and Martin slides over to LF.

I would have to disagree with you on that of course depending on getting some pitchers back. We know Yu will be and Ogando should be. If Colby Lewis is back and in form then one more pitcher could make a big difference. Our bullpen is solid. When you look at the Giants who won 2 of the last 3 WS their offense may have been not as strong as what we have now.

I just don't know if we can get past Oakland without some better hitting. But, you have a point about the Giants. Different league, though.

As far as trades, I don't know what we should do. This isn't 2010 or 2011, where a big pitcher or a couple of relievers would be enough to put us in the World Series. We have holes in pitching and hitting now. If we can't address both, why give away young talent (or an established player)?

As a Tiger fan, I just had a look at your team. What I can objectively say is that the Rangers are still tough as hell, a glance at your record vs over .500 teams would tell anyone that. If I might say so, here's what I see.. all you need in your rotation is to get Darvish and Ogando back, that's enough right there imo. Your BP is just about peerless, don't change a thing there.

Your lineup is still very good, but in order to join the Red Sox and Tigrrs as 5 rpg teams, you do need one more slammer in there to tuck in with Cruz and Beltre, and you're all set. You'd have as good a chance as anyone to win the pennant.. seriously.

I believe JD is on the lookout for a bat. And who knows, manny may surprise the hell out of us.

Actually, I wasn't. And I never wanted him at first in place of Mitch either.

Problem is finding that big RH bat. Not a lot available out there. Maybe Schierholtz, rios, cuddyer.

I really hope Mitch can get it going again. He's looking better, but we need him badly.

I think a rotation guy is needed more as I am not sure on Ogando staying healthy. I can see adding a bat but with Beltre, Cruz, Kinsler, getting Baker back against lefties, along with Martin and an underachieving Andrus we could score just enought to win. Look at Detroit last WS and us a few years ago. Everyone thought we would win with the big offenses we had. But the Giants pitching did both of them in.

Cuddyer could be had.. that's a 90+ rbi bat right there, all you guys would have to do is approach Colorado with some young pitching, which you have, and you can get it done. The Rockies need pitching like nobody's busoness.. they know they're not einning that division with the DBacks and Dodgers running around over there. GET CUDDYER.

Question is, how much is coors inflating his numbers?

Ahh, but the Giants were a team of destiny, and ehen those come along, I'm sorry, but there's not a damn thing you can do about that. I promise you this though, most of the time a scary lineup can do wonders.. looking at some of the Yankees/Red Sox winners when I say so. So, yes, by all means.. go in there with a brutal lineup. As to Ogando, don't worry about him.. He's the guy on your staff that needs to be babied a little bit.. but, as a Tiger fan I know this.. a healthy Ogando is a dangerous piece of work. Get him healthy and satisfied.. for real.

Good question.. nonetheless I'll just call on you to remember how he hit in Minny. Good pure hitter-- doesn't matter where he's at. For you, I might suggest you place him between Cruz and Beltre. The guy hits.. get him.

Cuddyer is hitting .362 at home and .304 away this season.

Almost even home and away on HRs and RBIs

Then Texas needs to be in the phone. Colorado would probably want salary relief as much as anything.

Saw where Wolf is in the starting rotation but RW said not sure how long and Grimm in BP. Send Grimm to AAA and let a veteran like Lindblom or Nate Robertson in BP. RW said Wolf's time as starter could be short. If it is because we pick up someone then fine but if he continues to pitch well leave him alone. We sure don't have a problem with guys getting drilled go out there every 5th day.
