"Too many pitchers, that's all, there are just too many pitchers Ten or twelve on a team. Don't see how any of them get enough work. Four starting pitchers and one relief man ought to be enough. Pitch 'em every three days and you'd find they'd get control and good, strong arms." - Cy Young

It's time to PUT UP or SHUT UP.

It is going to be on FULL DISPLAY nightly in front of everyone at the stadium and another million TV viewers exactly how bad the 2022 Seattle Mariners want to succeed / make it into and thru the playoffs.

Robbie Ray needs to set the tone with tonites start and pass the torch to the other 4 starters.
Servais needs to sack up and send the message to the team if you ain't gonna go 100% balls out full force to win a game, you get your ass benched in front of the home town crowd. There has to be some accountability established. And Skip needs to piss on a few legs to establish dominance.

It's not too late to get things right and play good enough to be playoff worthy, but time is running out fast. It really needs to start this series.

Not exactly Mariners related but check out this jomboy video on youtube about Yu Darvish throws a four strike walk. I swear the umpires are mad about robo umps coming and are taking it out on the players. NSFW language

The scarier part was the look on the umps face. He was psycho.

Those numbers were unreal, but I guess pitching like he said would drive those numbers. They just amaze me how they did it back then.

Jim Palmer records his 20th victory of the season joining Oriole teammates Dave McNally, Mike Cuellar, and Pat Dobson to become the second team to have four 20 game winners. Sept 26, 1971

Yea I remember those pesky Orioles well.

They were the nemesis to my Reds winning one of the world series, I think that same year 1971.
Then the Big Red Machine really fired things up after O's dominance early 70s and Cincy was the boss dog mid 1970s

My favorite players from Orioles that year / era was of course Brooks Robinson at 3rd, But I was also a fan of their big 1st basemen
Boog Powell.

I couldn't agree more. I'm sick of being disillusioned by these guys, and someone, be it Servais or anyone else, needs to summon the brass to confront the team and tell it like it is! No more of this walking on eggshells because of what prima donnas we may have on the roster!

A lot is on the line in this homestand, and they better realize it.

A few years before I started watching. I started around '75 or '76. Remember Boog and of course Palmer well. Fun times. Go Big Red!!!

Got us a case of Mystery Pitcher in a couple of these, I see.

Looking at this home stretch, the one starter that really worries me is Marco Gonzales. He's not the best, and really needs to shape up if he wants to see another season with us.

Ray gives up the early HR to continue their string of games playing from behind.

Back home, but same team.

At least it wasn't us giving up yet another early lead tonight. That seems to be our norm as well.
