Basically adds, what, about $10M to his current value?
It doesn't say if it's $36M each year or $34M, then $38, etc.

He could still theoretically be available at the trade deadline, yes?
Locking him for an extra year might make that more appealing for another team.
Kind of like a sign and trade-later-down-the-line.

He's played pretty well all pre-season. Hopefully it carries over to the regular season.

But, it's the pre-season, so he's also seeing a lot of lineups and players that he won't when the games are real.

But it's a whole lot more encouraging that he's played well than it would be if he wasn't. lol

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, for either the Wiz or Beal.

Beal is a very good player, but he's not enough to get them to the playoffs, let alone advance. They likely weren't making the playoffs if Wall was healthy.

All Beal is going to do for them is make them just good enough to lose some ping pong balls.

Unless someone is willing to trade for him, he's basically going to just get 2 years older.

But he hasn't accomplished anywhere near enough to be calling $22.5 million per year an insult.
