Except this seems to be the case of any Dolphin who seems to have spoken out. Jack was portrayed as the bad guy in the movie yet he still was the best America can do much like the Dolphins. Rather win with slimeballs than lose with someone you perceive to be weak and can't stand up for himself.

Anyone else find it odd that all anti bullying campaigns are designed to bully the bully instead of actually helping the victim stand up to the bully.

He went to jail because he wasn't the "best that America can do." He was just a self-righteous bully who deserved to go to prison for his actions. Lol @ you watching the movie and seeing Cruise's character as the villain.

Report: Teammates considered Incognito 'an honorary black man'

Richie Incognito reportedly has the support of his teammates. (USATSI)

Ever since suspended Dolphins guard Richie Incognito was accused by tackle Jonathan Martin of threatening him with racist and fecal matter-themed voice messages, it might have surprised the public that Incognito's teammates seemed to have sided with Incognito more than the victim of his apparent bullying.

Dolphins harassment caseLatest updates from the Martin-Incognito situation
For example ...
"I like both of them," Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace said this week. "I love Richie. I think he's a great guy. I don't think he was out of hand. I have a lot of respect for Richie. I wish he was here."
Now, the Miami Herald has an interesting story that could help explain his support. In the article, the newspaper claims that the locker room considered Incognito "an honorary black man."
Here's how the paper's Armando Salguero explained it:

I've spoken to multiple people today about this and the explanation from all of them is that in the Dolphins locker room, Richie Incognito was considered a black guy. He was accepted by the black players. ...
And Jonathan Martin, who is bi-racial, was not. Indeed, Martin was considered less black than Incognito.
"Richie is honarary," one player who left the Dolphins this offseason told me today. "I don't expect you to understand because you're not black. But being a black guy, being a brother is more than just about skin color. It's about how you carry yourself. How you play. Where you come from. What you've experienced. A lot of things."
On the other hand, Martin reportedly was considered soft and that his well-to-do education at Stanford and his successful parents were perhaps looked down upon by his black teammates. Writes Salguero, "It perpetuated in the way Martin carried himself."
As for Incognito, he's simply trying to get himself through the day.
"You know what, I'm just trying to weather the storm right now," Incognito told a local Fort Lauderdale TV station Tuesday. "This will pass."

This gets more stupid by the hour. So you're supposed to be ashamed to be black, smart and successful? I guess he should have gone to Miami and follow Ray Lewis and Michael Irvin's example.

I guess if you are not a gangster thug in the NFL, you are not accepted by blacks, even if you are black. Makes no sense to me either.:noidea:

I wont say all blacks, but at least those in the locker room are just plain stupid. Reminds me of Carlton Banks and Will Smith. I get what they meant. Since Martin didnt come from a background that some blacks come from, he somehow doesnt know the "struggle" or whatever.

Its like when kids tell a smart black kid that they are "acting white". Its slave mentality. Blacks werent allowed to read and learn in those times cause that was for whites, seems some still hold that mentality. Sad.

I agree, meant the blacks in the locker room and not all blacks. Who knows what goes on in those locker rooms, maybe Martin acts as though he is better than them. Maybe that's what they meant by the way he carries himself.

So telling his coaches is doing nothing. What would punching Incognito have done? It was 5-1 and punching a psycho like that would have more than likely just set him off. That is a brilliant plan. Some of you are fucking morons.

I have been following this story since it came out and nowhere did I see/hear/read that he ever told any coach (or anybody) before he walked out ... quite the contrary to what I've seen. If I'm incorrect here, please let me know where you're getting that he informed a coach prior to him walking out ...

:peace:

Why are people so quick to blame the victim? Kind of disgusting.

The same reason the same society seems apt to always blame the alleged perp maybe??? This society has become "GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT!"

If it happened, the person must have done it ... right?

Alot of it has to do with the media reporting it and how they want to portray the report ... they 'seem' to report want they wanna report before they look at actually what is happening/what may be going on behind the scenes, just so they got the scoop first. The more & more I hear about this 'incident', the more interesting it becomes from what was 'actually originally reported' and how it was reported. Typical ...

According to reports from various GMs no GM will sign him. That's all I have to go by. Vick also wasn't a locker room cancer and has the ability to tear a team apart. He wasn't kicked out of 2 colleges. He wasn't let go by a team for way to many personal foul penalties, he wasn't voted the dirtiest player in the league. Vick is a moron and did horrible things, none of it effects a football team like what Incognito does. I would NEVER let this piece of shit on my team.

But Chad Johnson was ok? He never created 'distractions' either? Works both ways dude.

Chad Johnson never did anything to his teammates. He was great with the fans and the only thing he ever did was dance in the endzone. Don't even fucking act like it's even close to the same situations. Fucking moronic.

So we're just going to ignore the fact that all of their teammates are saying Incognito always had Martin's back and Martin didn't publicly express any problems with Incognito until Monday? And that they always hung out together well after April?

What a crybaby bitch. Stop your whining and suck it up. Everybody on this site has said regrettable shit at some point in their lives. He was wrong but the way some of you idiots are acting, I kind of wish he could face you as you moan and groan.

ncognito, meanwhile, has become a national villain. He has been suspended indefinitely by his team, and won’t ever again play for the Dolphins. None of it is fair, an irate Clabo said Wednesday in an overwhelmingly pro-Incognito locker room.

“He treated him like a little brother,” Clabo said. “They did a lot of stuff together, so if he had a problem with the way he was treating him, he had a funny way of showing it.”

When asked to explain Martin’s actions the past week, which have threatened to end both Martin’s career and Incognito’s, Clabo said: “I don’t know why he’s doing this. ... I think this whole thing is ridiculous.”

Added receiver Brian Hartline: “The people that can hurt you most are the ones closest to you and that’s exactly what happened.”

Just how close? When Martin wanted to hit the town, he wouldn’t go without Incognito.

They strolled down Bourbon Street together. They sat together on team flights. They went to Heat playoff games. “Big Weirdo” was seen, at least by Incognito, as a term of affection.

And when Martin got into a practice-field scrap with Dion Jordan a few weeks back, Incognito was the first to get his linemate’s back.

Clabo quipped: “I’ve been here long enough to know that if Martin had a problem, he didn’t show it. ... I think that if you have a problem with somebody ... [you should] stand up and be man.”

MESSAGE NEEDS CONTEXT

Though few doubt Incognito deserves to be suspended – he was caught on tape using vile, racially-charged language – even fewer have stopped to ask what else was on the message, which has only been released via transcript.

Right after telling Martin, “I’ll kill you,” Incognito told his teammate and friend, “OK, call me back,” The Miami Herald has learned.
