Incognito has a history of being a POS going back for a long time. This does not surprise me at all. I hope he gets cut. Probably wont, due to his talent level, but guys like that can fuck up your team chemistry fast.
\\

The fact that the Oregon Ducks kicked Incognito off their football team for being an Ahole should have told the Pro football GM's this guys character was crap. How many times do shitheads, who play a good game of football, get drafted to later bite their teams in the ass. When will pro football people learn that a players character is just as important, or maybe moreso, as football players ability.

Ellerbe says Martin should have came to the "Leadership Council" with his problems.... What a joke. Incognito was a member of the leadership council. And for some reason, so was Ellerbe. Even though he was Raven last season. I'd really like to know who the sources are for this article. (I'll give DE credit for atleast letting The Sentinel use his name. )

I figured there was a lot more to this.

Sounds like Incognito was following coaches orders and went too far. I bet there is a lot more to this story that is yet untold. Richie is starting to look like the fall guy. That's why I've heard his own teammates, who are black, defending him and not Martin. Just speculation, but let's see how much more to this story.

Colonel Joseph R. Philbin, Commanding Officer, National Football League, Miami, Florida.

Have you ever spent time on a football team, son? Ever served on an offensive line? Ever put your block in another lineman's hands, ask him to put his block in yours? We run plays, son. We run plays or people get sacked.

Son, we live in a world that has offensive lines, and those lines have to be filled by 350-pound men with helmets. Who's gonna do it? You?

I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Martin, and you curse the Dolphins' o-line. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what coaches know. That Martin's departure, while tragic, probably saved Ryan Tannehill's life. And Richie Incognito's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves quarterbacks' lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about on Twitter, you want him on that line. YOU NEED HIM ON THAT LINE. We use words like shiver, rip technique, smash. We use those words as a backbone of a life spent defending quarterbacks. You use them as a comment on Pro Football Talk.

I have neither the TIME nor the INCLINATION to EXPLAIN MYSELF to a man who rises and sleeps under the fandom of the very team I and then bitches on Twitter about the way I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and bought a season ticket. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a helmet, and stand at left tackle. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you football fans think you're entitled to. *Did you order the code red?* YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT I DID! - Joe Philbin

we have to teach kids that there is nothing wrong with being themselves and not to let other opinions bother them. This is how you stand up to bullying.

or what i'm gonna teach my kids(when i have them). "You see bullying. You fight the bully"

Well...I guess if I was a 400 lb. adult, male millionaire...I wouldn't really give a fuck about being bullied? I guess I'd sit at my own lunch table next to a big bag of money. And if it became physical, I would take a stand, or involve law enforcement, (if deemed that serious). I'm sure a high profile pro football player might be taken seriously by the police.

I just don't get the mindset to allow this to happen for as long as it allegedly did?

I don't think you understand how relentless people with antisocial personality disorder (sociopaths, narcissistic personality disorder, etc) can really be. Throw in the fact that RI was a all-pro veteran, who seemed to dominate the locker room (what, is 2nd year Ryan Tannehill going to tell him to shut up?)- Martin and the other rookies were completely marginalized. The fact that he is big and makes money is fairly irrelevant when you have to deal with this sort of issue- which is present at your place of work, all road trips, and permeates into parts of your personal life with those sorts of voice messages and who know what else. From what I've read so far I don't think Martin acted like a victim or baby whatsoever.

I, too, often get sick of many peoples "victim mentality" and people who always seem to paint themselves as victims. However, I must say, I respectfully disagree with almost everything you have written in this thread.

Yeah, funny.

Except:

1) Jack Nicholson's character is supposed to be the bad guy in that movie. He's a power-mad sociopath.

2) Football is entertainment, not warfare. It's a game. Lives aren't on the line.

I'm not sure taking picks away is a bad idea. You really want to make coaches and GMs and owners make sure this doesn't happen, start punishing the teams as well as the players. I'd consider fining the team as a whole too.
