I love it. It's okay to chuck a plate of spaghetti on the ground when people leave if you try to sit next to them because he is just "different."

Are you all serious? That reeks of mental instability. The correct way to respond to bullying is to tell the person to stop. If that doesn't work, in a normal context you go to authorities. In the NFL, where you have to project an image of toughness, you can either do that or physically stand up to them. What you don't do is talk to no one and just sulk like a little child and eventually leave a team that is paying you millions of dollars to perform.

That's not okay just because somebody bullied him. It suggests mental problems and/or weakness. Neither of those are a good thing in football or in life.

Lol again you show your stupidity. So what would happen at your law firm if you pressured and bullied someone into paying for you to go to Vegas? You'd be in jail faster than you can say innocent.

I understand "racially charged," which is more like being an asshole than "bullying," but I don't understand "threatening." What could a 300 pound dickhead to another 300 pound guy and get away with it with the spotlight of the NFL shining on him? :noidea:

Did you not read what the texts and voicemails said?

I was reading deadspin, and there are rumors that Martin has drug problems en such, I wouldn't be shocked if he had problems coming in, and Incognito's harassment has just made them worse. Although I agree, if he went to the Fins, and they did nothing, I can't see much else besides filing a grievance with the union, although unions are usually worthless with that type of stuff.

But yea, if Incognito is a team leader, there is a huge problem.

The rumors from what I heard were started by Incognitos dad on a Dolphins forum. He was posting all kinds of shit on there. Anyone else see it?

Exactly. There is a huge difference between rookie hazing (although I'm not a fan of it personally) and what Incognito has allegedly done here. Racism and making threats, however serious, against people's families don't have a place anywhere.

Also:

Good for them. If teams were smart Incognito would never play another down in the NFL.

Well...I guess if I was a 400 lb. adult, male millionaire...I wouldn't really give a fuck about being bullied? I guess I'd sit at my own lunch table next to a big bag of money. And if it became physical, I would take a stand, or involve law enforcement, (if deemed that serious). I'm sure a high profile pro football player might be taken seriously by the police.

I just don't get the mindset to allow this to happen for as long as it allegedly did?

You say that now, until someone is threatening your mom and family and you. Then I bet you'd curl up somewhere in a ball and piss yourself.

Well, apparently, he didn't properly convey that fear to...ANYONE!?

This is why I feel, his claim that he went to the organization and them allegedly ignoring it, to be the most interesting aspect of the story.

That, and what skeletons Martin may be hiding.

But it sounds like Incognito needs some psychological evaluation and some time unemployed.

This is also the nature of the NFL:

Someone will pick him up.

Not yet, if the NFL suspend him for at least the rest of the year...

This is why I feel, his claim that he went to the organization and them allegedly ignoring it, to be the most interesting aspect of the story.

That, and what skeletons Martin may be hiding.

That is certainly worth mentioning, but it's not directly relevant to the case imho. Whatever skeletons he has that doesn't change how Incognito has behaved.

Here's the program from the Cincy @ Miami game. Richie names Martin the "easiest teammate to scare"

"Hey, wassup, you half n----- piece of s---. I saw you on Twitter, you been training 10 weeks. [I want to] s--- in your f---ing mouth. [I'm going to] slap your f---ing mouth. [I'm going to] slap your real mother across the face [laughter]. F--- you, you're still a rookie. I'll kill you."

This is one of the voicemails left by Incognito.

Never ceases to amaze me how many internet tough guys we have here. It's likely most of the posters acting as if this is no big deal and dismissing it with comments like, man up or this happens all the time are probably real life cowards. Men who know they are emotionally or physically tough needn't express it. Hazing at any level is asinine, if this is a team then act like a team seperating a person or people does not promote camraderie.

You can say this all you want, but if everyone ran away from something every time they were bullied, no one would be left in any school or most workplaces. I am a physically weak person, but if anybody bullied me (and people have), I wouldn't just do nothing and then snap one day by chucking a fucking plate of spaghetti on the ground. Again, that's ridiculously childish and you don't need to be a tough guy to realize that.

Spot on. It's not a matter of being a tough guy, it's a matter of stopping the problem in it's tracks. Bullying is about dominance, if you make it very clear you are not someone that will tolerate it and be a mental punching bag it will cease being an issue (in theory).

Again, it's tough for any of us to say for sure in this instance what should've been done because we weren't there, we don't have all of the details but based on that voicemail, you don't have any allies on the team? You can't play that for some of you buddies on the team to say listen to the message this asshole just left me? Call him out, make him look like a dick, stand up to him, I dunno, I would've done something. Again though, I'm talking out of my ass because we've only been given tidbits of this story.

So telling his coaches is doing nothing. What would punching Incognito have done? It was 5-1 and punching a psycho like that would have more than likely just set him off. That is a brilliant plan. Some of you are fucking morons.

Again, all you're taking away from this is punch the guy. That's the last resort. There's plenty of things you can do. Does he seriously have nobody on the team that could back him up? And I don't mean in a physical altercation, I mean call this guy out. Make him look like a dick, get other people on your side if nothing else just for the moral support, somebody to say fuck that guy, ignore him or step in and say yo Richie quit being such an asshole.

Interesting.

LOL the ring scared/messed him up? LMAO. How he gets away with calling anyone else a wuss is beyond me once he admitted that. If I was Martin I would've just constantly kept telling him, "LOL the Ring?"

"Dude I'm going to kill you and your mom!"
"THE RING!?"

"You piece of **** N-----!!!"
"THE RING DUDE?!"

"I SWEAR I WILL SHOVE MY ---- IN YOUR MOUTH!"
"*LOL* THE RING, DUDE THE RING? THE RING? SERIOUSLY? The RING!? Like engaged? THE RING!?!?!!? LOL c'mon man."

I couldn't take anyone seriously at all after they admitted that. The Ring was probably the dumbest horror movie of all time.

obviously not. The coaches knew and did nothing. Other rookies were being extorted and couldn't stop it. Who was going to stop it? He walked away like a mature adult and told the higher ups. The NFL is investigating and Incognito will never play for Miami and possibly anyone again.

Why are people so quick to blame the victim? Kind of disgusting.
