He honestly does make a lot of sense for you guys and would have some time to develop. I just don't like his skill set with what I know the Broncos are planning to do on offense this year. I don't think it lines up well.

I would be more than happy to see the Pats take him.

I see him as a perfect fit for the Broncos.....

If we are taking a prospect I like Jones from Duke although considered a first round pick I still feel he is not NFL ready but has a lot of potential, and you can't be a dummy and attend Duke. The Pats just cut Allen and another WR (Darren Andrews) and Dorsett may be gone too so I suspect the may be targeting a WR early maybe even round one.

I like the Pats not moving any of there round 1 and 2 picks and targeting Clayton Thorston Northwestern.

Again a smart kid school so the gray matter is in place. Accurate passer especially short to mid range. Shined at the position on a team that does not exactly attract the nations top athletes. When time permits look at some film on this kid.

I like the fact I think we can get him in round three this would allow us to target a DT and WR earlier in the draft. And as a third round pick we know what he is a bit of a project but I believe the tools are there.

I also like his size and pocket presence

But this is all for not. BB never does what anyone thinks and he sure as hell won't use all 12 picks.

BINGO!!!!!!!

I can tell you right now that there are teams sitting on pins and needles because BB will not set aside $9M in cap money for 12 rookies. That being said, he has the following picks:
First round: 32nd overall – original
Second: 56th overall – via Chicago
Second: 64th overall – original
Third: 73rd overall – via Detroit
Third: 97th overall - Solder compensatory
Third: 101st overall - Butler compensatory
Fourth: 134th overall - original
Sixth: 205th overall - Amendola compensatory
Seventh: 239th overall - via Philadelphia
Seventh: 243rd overall - via Cleveland
Seventh: 246th overall - original
Seventh: 252nd overall - Fleming compensatory

With 6 of the first 101 picks in the draft, BB can move just about anywhere he wants to go to get whomever he wants to take. If he wanted Daniel Jones or Drew Lock, he could package 32, 56, 73 and I'd bet that Gruder would give him the 4th.

Personally, I think BB will wait until the fourth or sixth round to make a QB selection. Eric Dungey of Syracuse would be someone who might be available. Way too many good Edge, DT and LB at the top of the pile to waste a high pick on a QB. WR is the biggest need if he can't get a top FA like Baldwin.

Just my opinion, but I think he'll deal away two, if not three, of his top six picks.

You saw it here first.............................Remember this name.........Donald PARHAM

From a smaller school, Stetson.

This kid is a tight end but he's just a little bit different.

Donald Parham TE Stetson 6'8-1/2" 250

Played in 9 games in 2018. 85 Catches 1,319 Yards 13 TDs 15.5 YPC

Strengths.....He's open even when covered because he's so tall. Has near 30" vertical leap and 36" arms that allows him to catch balls thrown almost four feet over his head. Even better, he has huge hands and catches the ball solidly and cleanly. Extremely athletic.

Weaknesses....Limited playing experience. Only played two years in HS and three in college. Needs to build up his frame and build up strength to play in the NFL.

Overall......Raw player with extremely unlimited potential. With the right team, coaching, conditioning and patience, he could rewrite the books on TE.

(I sent BB and Caserio a text.)

Finally get first round picks but I fully expect BB to trade them away. Need another TE and WR but I don't see them targeting them in the early rounds. Watch them draft another RB.

Ohh I think we take a WR or TE early. LMAO if we take another RB early I will fall out. But hey it keeps pressure off Tom.

Good work on sending that text.
Very intriguing. Possiblly undrafted. Or with all of NEs picks use a 6 or 7. I like the potential.

I still want one of the top 5 TEs in this draft. I have faith NE scouting will figure out which one is best based on talent and value.

I would not be surprised to see the Pats take a WR and TE with their first two picks good depth at those positions so there will be talent there for the taking.

This dtaft is incredibly hard.
Potential studs like Wynn, Bentley returning.
So many picks.
So much talent on the DL/TE/WR.
It could go 1 of 1000 ways.

Of late the Pats seem to draft in groupings. Which is to say they might draft multiple positions in one area ie O Line or D Line, they may go as far as drafting the same position twice. I would not be surprised if this years grouping would be pass catchers.

Certainly hope so but again I would not be surprised if BB trades the early round picks away yet again

Shoot, I will not be surprised if Bill signs Trent Brown then drafts another left tackle at 32.

I agree. After hearing so much on Hockenson, I watched some of his tape. I think he will be the next great TE. Fant and Smith should be very good also. But Hockenson can block like a nasty offensive lineman. The Patriots would have to trade up to get him.

Lots of WR’s I like too. My personal favorite is Hakeem Butler. Tall... fast... great hands.

I heard an interesting commentary today.............

Bill Belichick has constantly surprised fans and everyone else with his methods and choices in every draft. The reason is because all of us are looking at the team as it's structured right now and we all think we see the perfect person to fill every slot on the team. What we fail to realize is that BB is always looking much more forward than we do. Hence, the players he selects are generally meant to fill a role that will not be seen for at least a year, possibly more.

With all of these lower end signings today, he just about has filled all of the "now" depth openings and will more than likely concentrate on the future in this draft. Look two years from now in 2021. Who will no longer be here for sure? Those are the guys that will potentially be drafted in April 2019. One or two may surprise us and actually make the starting team and play significant roles in a Championship quest in 2019.

This guy made so much sense that I sat in the driveway listening to him finish up what he was talking about. Not once did any of the daily talking heads interupt him. I think they were as stunned as I was. I wish I could have taped him, he'd be worth listening to all over again. Sadly, I never got his name.

First participant mock of the year in the books:

1.32 Dexter Lawrence, DL, Clemson
2.64 Riley Ridley, WR, Georgia
3.74 Andy Isabella, WR, UMass
3.97 Josh Oliver, TE, San Jose St.
3.101 Delvon Randall, S, Temple
4.134 Max Scharping, OL, Northern Illinois
4.136 Anthony Ratliff-Williams, WR, UNC
7.02 Matt Sokol, TE, Michigan St.
7.32 Khalil Hodge, LB, Buffalo
7.38 Ryan Pulley, CB, Arkansas

(note - this was part of a full mock offseason with free agency in which I was able to retain Trent Brown and Trey Flowers and add Jesse James in FA among others, so some of these picks were shaped by those decisions...the next couple I do will be more reflective of what the Pats have actually done in FA IRL. I also added Baltimore's 2 and 5 in 2020 as part of this exercise)

How do your binkies usually work out as far as NFL productuvity? Not judging.
Lol IDK but I like to think my hit rate is pretty good.
And looking back at what I did in the same mock last year made me think of this discussion from eariler in this thread ^.

Here was the first participant mock I did before FA started:

1.19 Da'Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
2.11 Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio St.
3.21 Uchenna Nwosu, LB, USC
3.31 Rashaan Gaulden, CB, Tennessee
6.13 Ito Smith, RB, Southern Mississippi
6.31 Brett Toth, OT, Army
7.18 Logan Woodside, QB, Toledo
So first 5 picks were all guys that were useful players for their teams in Year 1, and then one in the service and one in the AAF on the backend. Not terrible.

Patriots' seven-round mock draft

I don't know how to do a link but if you copy the URL above, this is Phil Perry's Mock 7 Round Draft for the Patriots. Perry is a regular on Boston Sports Tonight and spends most of his time at Gillette with Tom E Curran.

Perry just might have more inside stuff than the average bear.
