Point taken. And obviously me and you - several, several others + the Rangers - disagree. Again....I said, "if it were me." It's not a big deal. But I sure want my starters ready when it becomes nut cutting time (which is real soon).
Wolf could use some work...the poor guy must be bored down there in the pen...

With the rangers having Thursday off for 6 straight weeks the starters are getting plenty of rest.

OK........I just see no upside, and I don't see much similarity between innings in AAA, to pitching in the bigs against the bigs, and with a division (perhaps more) on the line. You're probably right. Like I said...."If it was me." I'd bet $10 he's coming back out. Potato's patato's perhaps. I just think it never hurts to rest a starter when given that opportunity.

Save a taxed bullpen. Let him continue to pitch and develop. Just make him a guy that is one of the anchors of this staff which he already is. I see no upside in not pitching him more as long it is within reason.

So the Rangers are going to have a better road record than home record. Whoa.

Exactly. this is all I was saying, or at least trying to. Here was a good time to rest Martin, give some innings to Wolf, and the game, frankly, is not in question.

Yeah, but you said 2 innings. There are 3 left and 4 at the time. Wolf can pitch 3.

I'm not surprised - its just my impression, but the offense and our intensity seems to be more effective on the road than at home (and I'm thinking ...we did suck against the Indians, White Sox, and Jays on the road). It's just perception, absolutely no facts to back it up

What ever happened with K Morales being claimed on waivers a couple days ago? Di anyone hear who claimed him? Bastard played al three games against Rangers. Sure hope it was not OAK that claimed him.

Doesn't matter ... IF he was claimed when the fans speculated that he was ... the clock has run out. I don't pay attention to national talking heads ... but have heard zip from Jamey or anyone else that Morales was claimed. I think it is simply OAK fan hyperbolics.

But as I said ... doesn't matter any more. The clock is dead. The 48.5 hours are gone.

Nice at bat by EA.

I like this kid. He's certainly having a much, better second half than first half season. I do think we over paid a little, but still, he's terrific at SS, decent to good hitter (without power of course), and great teammate. And I really feel the Rangers, + us, are going to be happy we have him over the long haul.

I was just throwing out food for thought. But obviously, the Rangers disagree, and I'll go with them. How bout you? hahaha
