Now 53-52 in the final set. Isner with a chance to break Mahut's serve and win.... for the 53rd time this set.

Mahut just did a full sprint and dive for a ball. HOw does he have that energy?!?

This match is on ESPNU by the way. They are probably less than half an hour away from being called for darkness.

Damn - match point for Isner, but Mahut serves up an ace.

LOL! Players talking about how they can't see the ball now and the crowd chanting "we want more" after a 7+ hour set. Hilarious.

Suspended... they put in almost a full working day in ONE set.

To be continued tomorrow. I think them stopping was advantageous to Isner. He was DEAD tired. Final score on the day...

Aces - Isner 98, Mahut 95

The previous record for aces in a match at Wimbledon was 84 COMBINED. They have individually eclipsed that. While I'm sure both want to win, I think the most aces record might be the best storyline here.

They should call it a draw, and allow both of these guys to team up against their next opponent. :)

Hate the rules. Why do you have to win by 2? Why not make it go up to ...I don't know....20 and have it next point wins type of thing. That is more then enough tennis.

Pissed that I missed the beginning. Big tennis fan. I'll catch the conclusion for sure.

the issue is, you need to break a serve to win.
first one to 7 (arbitrary number) gives a pretty sizeable advantage to whoever serves first.

The way the match was for the last few hours, they may as well have just taken 2 tennis ball machines and repeatedly shot each player in the nads. First player to fall to his knees loses. It would have been less painful.

I seriously thought Isner was about to collapse for the last hour or so.
