Wimbledon match has now gone over 7 hours, with more than 4 hours in the 5th set alone. One player has 78 aces and it is 35-34 in the final set as I type this. Insanity. The one guy looks like he can barely move. Check it out - it's silly.

It's now 37-37. The final set alone has taken longer than any other match at Wimbledon so far this year.

37 games to 37 games??? As in like 37 full games in the last set? I do not follow tennis enough to know how it scores in tie breakers.....

tiebreakers are counted in single points. you need to win by two

Yes, FULL games. There have now been 148 aces in the match. The previous record was 82.

Honestly, Isner (American) can barely walk - he's just blasting big serves and big shots and hoping they go in. The other guy, Mahut (French), has a remarkable amount of energy - he's now had to serve 32 different service games knowing he loses this monster match if he gets broken.

So they have played 74 total points after 5 full sets....damn that is still pretty crazy....

No, FULL games. Neither one can break the other's serve. At Wimbledon, they don't use tiebreakers in the fifth set. Somebody has to win by two games.

Izner is 6'9" and 250 lbs. How he can still move is beyond me.

I'm watching it on ESPN 8... the Ocho.

Funniest comment from the commentator there... "The fans are yelling puss-ay, pussay... push, push."

Excuse me, what was that?!?

This is just dumb. They should suspend the match.

80 games in one set!!!! Unthinkable....Remember last year in the finals when it went 16-14, not even close to this! Geez, and I thought Isner had a chance to get deep into it.

It has me watching tennis in the middle of the day in some preliminary round for the first time since.....well ever....so maybe it is not that dumb....

And it's probably the worst tennis you'll ever see (at a major anyway).

I'm enjoying the hell out of it. The strategy involved when you're that tired. The sheer magnitude of the match now. I think it's awesome. Even if not top flight tennis at this point, there have been some really great shots.

Now up to 7 hours, 45 minutes. These poor guys haven't taken a piss in 5 hours, not that they have any water in their body.

yep, just basicly going for winners, and missing alot

Actually, they both have a better than 4:1 ration of winners to unforced errors. Pretty incredible considering the fatigue. And I haven't seen a double fault from either play in more than 30 service games now.
