The Islanders drafted a kid named Taylor Camarrata in the 3rd round. He led the USHL in scoring this season. He's listed at 5'6. I saw a picture of him in an Isles jersey & thought he was 12. I don't know if he's gong to make it, but I'll be cheering for him.

That sounds like Gerbe. He looked like a young kid too. Being only 5'5" and a light weight he would just get brushed aside by these 6'2" d men like a rag doll. I know having a lot of heart helps but when there is that much of a size difference it's pretty tough to over come. Put them up against the real monsters like Chara and they don't have a chance. Their only hope is if they have a lot of speed. It's hard to hit what you can't catch but sooner or later get in a situation along the boards and they're done.

He's attending prospect camp this week in L.I.. It's going to be interesting to see on Thursday how he plays. I know it's not going to be a physical game in all likelyhood because this is for the fans & gives the team a chance to see where these guys are in the development curve. However, the Islanders have some HUGE defenseman.

Reinhart 6'4
Pedan 6'4
Mayfield 6'4
Leduc 6'6
Somerby 6'5
Pelech 6'3
Dalheison 6'3

Camarratta better stay out of the corners. He might have a tough time coming out alive.

Yeah that doesn't include 1st rounder Ryan Pulock who's a 6 footer. He does shoot the puck 100MPH though. They have a hardest shot competition every year so this year is going to be fun. The Isles have a very talented group of Defenseman in their system.

Maybe we need a linguistics investigator to delve deeper into Melnyk's comments...

I have to say that I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Grabovski, but I wouldn't want to sign him for more than 2.5 million per season on at most a three year deal. Put it this way, sooner Grabovski than Raymond.

If Briere can get 4M per Grabovski should easily be able to get the same. I'd like him on the Isles I just doubt Garth even makes an offer.

Agreed with dbni. Grabbo isn't going to be a bargain.
He is the top UFA by a pretty wide margin

DarrenDreger: Jake Muzzin agreed to terms with L.A. @ 2013-14: 1M and 2014-15: 1M.

Holy doodle, great signing, Muzzin is a good young defenseman.

Erik Condra just re-signed with the Sens. Two years for a total of $2.5M.

Excellent signing. A terrific penalty killer who seems to have good chemistry with whoever he plays with. Had excellent possession stats this year too.
