Comparing Matt Cooke to Chris Simon is ridiculous. A month into the season Wild fans will love the guy...

I'm betting they won't - they hate him from his Vancouver days and his exploits since then in Pittsburgh haven't gone unnoticed either.

I'm sure a lot of people in Dallas were thinking they'd learn to love Sean Avery.

Four years of Buttercup...

The New York Islanders have agreed to terms with forward Cal Clutterbuck on a four-year contract.

Clutterbuck was acquired from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Nino Niederreiter at the NHL Draft last Sunday.

The 25-year-old from Welland, Ontario had four goals and six assists in 42 games for the Wild last season.

The five-year NHL veteran has 62 goals and 110 points in 346 games, all with Minnesota.

Clutterbuck was a third-round choice of the Wild at the 2006 Draft.

Look at this potential starting forward lineup for the Avs:

Landeskog - Duchene - Parenteau
Statsny - O'Reilly - Downie
Tanguay - MacKinnon - McGinn

No way this team will finish 30th this upcoming season.

4 years 11M. So Clutterfuck gets 2.75M per. That's over 1M more than he was qualified for. Well if Boyd Gordon can get 3 years 9M I guess I can live with it. I have a feeling Josh Bailey is going to get more.

He easily slips under the radar Boss, but no, I don't think anybody has picked him up as of yet.

It's too bad, The kid has a lot of heart but he is just too damn small. I know a lot of small guy's have done well but not 5-5 178 small. And I question that 178 too. Shit Ennis is listed 5-9 157 but I think they got the weights wrong on the roster. S/B the other way around.

Yeah, it makes you wonder if guys like Johnny Gaudreau and Rocco Grimaldi will be able to play consistently at the NHL level as they are both small guys. Heck, even Nic Petan dropped to the second round in this year's draft after tying for the WHL scoring lead the past season (mainly because he's 5'9" and 165 lbs.)

The Islanders drafted a kid named Taylor Camarrata in the 3rd round. He led the USHL in scoring this season. He's listed at 5'6. I saw a picture of him in an Isles jersey & thought he was 12. I don't know if he's gong to make it, but I'll be cheering for him.
