Phil has 16 pts in the past 20 games. 11 of those points have come in the 9 games against teams currently out of a playoff spot. The Phil--who is still and always will be my hero--has played a lot of good hockey lately. Looking at his early season numbers is kind of pointless since the whole team was inept at goal scoring early in the season, between Johnston's hyper-passive system and Scuderi failing to "The Piece" together any useful outlet passes. It's a different team under Sullivan, and the new game works better for The Phil, which is showing up on the stat sheet, even though Geno was out for a good stretch.

There's a trend here.
He wasn't the best skater out their, but I didn't care. I'll never forget the role he played in the 93 playoffs. Especially against Pittsburgh.
He is forever immortalized as "one of those dudes Mario burned" in his statue, so he has that going.
Cool comment, bro.I don't know why I'm re-entering this discussion, but... Bro, do you even statistics?

Assuming those numbers are correct, this season Phil has scored 0.53 PPG vs non-playoff teams and 0.77 PPG vs playoff teams. What this apparently shows is that he can't compete against top teams and folds when the pressure is on.
This season, Player A has scored 0.86 PPG in 35 games vs playoff teams and 0.57 PPG vs non-playoff teams. Similarly, we should also conclude that Player A folds when the pressure is on.
Fucking Jonathan Toews. Can't be relied on when you need him.
Get Phil a two-way game then compare him to JT.Assuming those numbers are correct, this season Phil has scored 0.53 PPG vs non-playoff teams and 0.77 PPG vs playoff teams. What this apparently shows is that he can't compete against top teams and folds when the pressure is on.

Also, I have no problem with players scoring more points against weaker teams and then finding them harder to come by against the stronger opposition. I mean, you still want to beat those weaker teams right?
I just don't want to pay them $8 million.
