Details:

The Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers agreed to a trade for J.T. Miller, according to a league source. A trade call has not happened yet, the source said.

Along with Miller, the Canucks are sending Erik Brännström and Jackson Dorrington to the Rangers for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini and a top-13 protected 2025 first-round pick, a league source said.

Ya, for not much imo

I don't know about you, but no single player on the Kings strikes me as a needle mover. They literally have no value but aren't great NHL players either.

I guess Fiala could be sent off but then who would absorb that contract and what else would Bowlby have to send?

The more and more you look at this team, the more and more you start to accept "we're screwed ". Completely overachieved the early part of the season, this is what we got.

And this team will not get past the WCQF if not making them at all.

If you look back in the off season thread im positive I mentioned this exact thing as well in the thread last night about PLG. Kings have nothing, zero not 1 asset they could move. Kings fans hung their hopes on Buster to become a game changer and Clarke to become Karlsson 2.0....After the PLG treatment I hold little hope that the Kings can entice a game breaking FA so hopefully they can make something happen with the mediocre FAs heading our way as your not gonna see anything from the pipeline....If your pumping Buster as is now 5y later then when do you expect our 1st rounder this year greentree..2030? Not looking good

I forgot to mention Kempe, he would bring back the absolute most. But I'd hate to see him leave, and whatever he does bring back won't make up for his loss. The Kings have zero trade chips sans draft picks.

Blake has built this team so horribly it should be a crime. Stuck with hope on a 5 year 2OA, overpriced Moore, Lewis still getting nightly minutes, it's absurd.

For sure, him moving is 100% surrender and start of trying to rebuild. As is, does he want to resign his next contract in LA? Most likely doubftul and he will be dangled as a ufa trade bait for a contender at that time next season? Fiala could net a pick / prospect as could Kopistar or DD8....any of those moved are signal of a very tough 4 to 6 years up coming at minimum. During this skid we have been hoping for a break, if you look back at all the breaks this season that went LAs way and got them the win or at least OT point and switch those breaks to 50/50 the Kings would be outside the PO spot probably by 6 or more points....go back and count all those games they won that and watching we know they shouldnt have been in....I know its why they play the game out, but if your relying on breaks to win youve already lost.

Not really sure what yhe Canucks are doing, sending desharnaise and that 1st to Pens for another Pettersen....Marcus is ok I suppose but that seems steep for some more cap dump....maybe they got a big deal lined up and need that space....otherwise Im not seeing a plan in Van

Desharnais was an awful fit in Vancouver, just didn't work out. The 1st that was thrown in is NYs that they got from the JT Miller trade and is top 13 protected this year, if the Rags pick within the top 13 it turns into an unconditional 1st in 2026 which is a deeper draft.

Canucks just reshaping their roster all around it seems, this one for the defense.

Also read something interesting, Hughes is due a new contract in two years and if the Canucks go into full rebuild mode Rutherford said Hughes is gone (assuming he means he will trade him for futures and prospects).

I did, I got it today. Kind of sucks they are 300 level seats, disappointing bur whatever. Could be worse, a few years ago the NY Giants gave all season seat holders a free Pepsi for appreciation and a size small to boot. Ouch.

Ms Puck I wants to see a game soon and Kopitar since she was at his first ever game as an 11 month old in October 2006 and his career is coming to an end. She wants full circle so next year, when I expect him to retire, I want to take just her and I so she can claim that she saw his entire career from beginning to end just like I got to see with Robotile.

I'd like to get better seats for her and I for a game now though, I'm going to inquire if we can upgrade using that perk or if I just flat out needs to buy better seats.

Saw Hartman got 10 games for shoving Stutzles face into the ice, Timmy still got 3 points in the game and is a PPG player yet again but I guess Buster does all that other stuff instead so whst a deal for us. Oh look another A for Timmay.....hes already about to pass Busters best production and only 54 games to do it....we got screwed with that pick

Jake Sanderson - a defenseman - has 10 less career points in 22 less career games than Buster from that 2020 draft. Lundell and Jarvis, taken a little later, have better numbers.

Sanderson or Raymond were my picks but even later on guys like Mercer have out produced Buster. It's disappointing and becoming more and more apparent the Kings screwed this one up.

You can upgrade for an extra cost
Got tickets for the 2/24 Vegas and 3/13 Caps
Friend and I go together. Couldn’t upgrade for Caps game without buying a third ticket. They might release another batch soon. First day gets a ton of people buying. Friend got the upgrade for Vegas.

He has helped get the Sens in the thick of it, way tough competition there just to get a spot, Panthers, Leafs, Wings, Lightning, Bruins....even Sabers and Canadians no cake walk

Even if Buster "busted out" and went 100 points in 100 games and Timmeh took a season off....Stevie would still be 100 points behind the shrimp

Sens are definitely in the mix and the EC is tougher than the WC. He's had a huge hand in that for sure.

That really puts it into perspective. Of course everyone will point to the plus/minus with Stuetzle at a career -60 and Buster at a career +26 but a) the teams play two entirely different styles of games, b) the Sens haven't had reliable goaltending during his tenure there and c) plus/minus is a subjective stat and not really something that defines a player although the eye test does. Doughty is a -4 already but we know he isnt that type of player, when Durzi was here he was a -21 one season and it ass apparent he will never be counted on defensively.

Buster definitely is the better of the two defensively but again, he wasn't drafted to be Dunno 2.0 averaging 40 or less points a year especially considering the enormous number of opportunities he has gotten in recent years.

Stuetzle's. 89 PPG is literally identical to Kopitar's career PPG, and Kopitar in 2010 (5 years into his career) had 358 points in 393 GP or .91 PPG while still being defensively a rock.

I'm not making a comparison apples to apples, there will probably never be another Kopitar. But there are plenty of 1Cs in the league putting up numbers while not being defensive liabilities, there always has been. Getzlaf, Tavares in his prime, Bergeron, the list exists.

Buster is nowhere near that at all and doesn't appear to be Kopitar's successor.
