I'm going to love to watch them dangle there. Love to see him as the last out tomorrow. Bases loaded down by three.I guess Bautista going to blame circumstances again.

IMO you'd be way over paying per his production.
Thanks for the read.
Pretty much the status quo for every top of the rotation starter in today's MLB.

Lots to think about. We need a five man rotation in 2017 and it looks like we may have the backside of three and signing Yu for $180 mil. Just don't know about that. Not to mention signing Lucroy. After watching Yu this year it might be wise not to rush the signing until it appears he is back on his game and I'm sure they won't. Anyway it won't matter if we can't prop up the rest of the rotation.
That was an expression meaning not much in Perez who at best is a 4. You are correct. We need a 3/5. Paying 180 mil to extend Yu may not leave much for anything else. Not seeing much coming to solidify the rotation. Hope I'm missing something.who do you consider the backside 3? I count Hamels and Darvish as 1 & 2 after that maybe Perez as #4 that leaves us needing a #3 & a #5

No disrespect to Colby but I don't see him continuing on as we have become accustomed to. Beyond that it's crap shoot to me.It seems you and I are two of few who are "apprehensive" about Yu.
I'm almost betting that at least one of Holland/Griffin/Lewis will be in our rotation for next season, and it wouldn't shock me if two of the 3 were. Not saying I'd be thrilled or even satisfied with it, but it wouldn't shock me.
Projected + or - some.where is the 180M coming from? Is that a firm number or a projected value?

2 of those 3 and we will suck

No idea about Colby but Griffin won't get a better deal any where imo.I understand your "cautious attitude" toward Lewis.
Wondering, would Colby sign a "incentive laden" contract with us? Like $3.5 mil plus a chance to get another 3.5?
Also, would Griffin take a minor league deal with an invitation to ST?
I think we almost have to sign Yu because Hamels can't be trusted to pitch like an ace for very much longer. If you don't resign Yu, who you going to replace him with. And if Hamels wasn't injured, then the way he pitched in the second half should be a concern.
There's that word IF again. We all hope for Colby but also reason for concern.Colby was 2 completely different pitchers this year, but he was the good Colby for longer than he was the bad Colby. Maybe we have some recency bias here where it concerns Colby. If he comes back and pitches like he did at the beginning of this year then he is at least a legitimate #3 for next year. He had an ERA of 2.81 two and a half months into the season.
