You think the Rangers can win the west this year?

Without a doubt we can. however, I think the Angels put up more of a fight this year. They still have pitching issues, but who doesn't? Josh is due for a bounceback year, it's an even numbered year after all

Nobody is going to hand it to us. That's for sure. We're going to have to get healthy and stay healthy.

One thing that did bother me is RW talking about working with Profar on his foot work at 2nd base. Just keep that in house and in public praise Profar and say something to the fact that he will do a great job at 2nd. I felt like that was self serving of RW. We do not need to knock another young player down a notch but just the opposite.

I didn't have any problem with what Wash said here. Frankly, he was just stating what everyone already knew, and wasn't "knocking Profar down a notch" at all IMO. I took it as the manager stating, if you're reading between the lines, how important Profar is to our success and he wants to personally give him all the help he can in order that he succeeds.

This is 100% correct.
Washington is known to have some abilities and working with infielders is one of um

I don't really have a problem with it. Kinsler didn't have the range our glove profar has, but one thing that made him so effective, and the double play duo of he and Andrus so awesome was Ian's footwork was spot on. I don't know any 20 year old kids who wouldn't need work on their footwork at second regardless of talent, especially when taking over second base full time. Wash is just letting profar know he hasn't "arrived" and there's still lots of work to be done.

Wilmer Font is one to keep our eyes on. It appears he's out of options like Kirkman.

He's had high expectations of him as a potential shut down reliever, but so far hasn't really delivered.

Has 1 left. (this year will be his last option) Was granted an extra one since he missed a full year in.......2011? I believe..

On Wednesday morning, Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington was as fired up as I can remember prior to a spring training scrum with the media.

He had just finished working out infielders Jurickson Profar, Brent Lillibridge, Luis Sardinas, Rougned Odor and Adam Rosales and was thrilled by what he saw as he put them through the paces on ground ball drills.

"They put on a show," Washington said. "I must have hit about a thousand balls this morning and not one ball hit the ground. Everything I hit was in a glove. Everything. Everything."

Washington said he can't ever remember that happening in all of his years coaching infielders.

"And I've been doing this for a long time," Washington said. "Some guys had to make some adjustments from the day before and they showed me they did. They were thinking about it. It wasn't like they walked off the field yesterday and that was the end of it. It was something they took pride in and came back the next day. I was impressed."

Profar and Odor. Like the sounds of that. Sardinas may have no place to go with the Rangers but you never know.

Thanks. You beat me to it, but I didn't remember why he got the year back. So good pickup.
