It's the Mets so definitely dumpster fire but at least we have entertaining off-seasons again.
Being greedy at this point but if the Mets could some how move Lagares' money and sign AJ Pollack, they are a legit threat on paper.
Paxton trade seemed like a winner off the bat. Decent rotation.
Liked him on the White Sox too. Consistent.
Yeah, same here. Thought he'd get $6-$9MM, not double digits. I can see him incrementally earning that salary if he can pitch to a 4 ERA or slightly lower somehow in the AL West.
Am I crazy or are arbitration figures this year out of control? Can't remember guys getting pay bumps like this.
I think the big part of the arbitration bumps is that the best players in MLB are younger than they used to be.
No more aging sluggers going on a juice rampage.
Nolan Arenado Reportedly Asked Rockies for Record $30 Million in Arbitration
Time to seal the Machado deal, Reinsdorf.
The Phillies do that they might become the favorites in the NL. I figure they get Harper plus Kuechel.
These media members are getting exposed this year. Every hour they are changing their story just to pretend they have one on where machado and Harper are going
4 years later, Jim Harbaugh is still using Michigan as a bargaining chip with the Raiders!

Sports reporters suck.
Buster OlneyVerified account @Buster_ESPN
The White Sox offer to Machado is for $175 million, over seven years. In some ways, their approach is like Boston's w/ J.D. Martinez last winter -- the Red Sox offered $100 million and waited for two months. If CWS offer emerges as best, a big ? is: Would Machado/NYY re-engage?
Agent probably threw that number out to olney so he could get in the room with more teams
Yeah, I mean if that's the best offer he's got on the table 1) it's shocking 2) there should be 20 teams out there that can beat that.
I do know that all the reporting I've read is that the Yankees have not even made an offer.
Oh snap! LOL Somebody's pissed.
Was just reminded that Olney reported last year that the best deal Eric Hosmer would get would be 5 years $80M
He was only off by $64M.
The Reds are making a really serious push for third place in the division.
