After he gave up a 1 out double..
...Lugo gives up a 2 out, 2 strike, rbi single.

Then he K's Muncy looking to end it.

3-2 LA....mid 9th.

Gotta work some walk off magic here, or at least send it into extras.

We absolutely cannot afford to lose any more ground, or have any more letdowns on this upcoming 6 game road trip to Denver & Cincy, ..or we're gonna need a lot more help than we thought we would.

Conforto - RF
Cano - 2B *
Alonso - 1B
JD Davis - LF
Rosario - SS
Nido - C

Matz gives up a 1 out single and 1 out walk..and then a full count rbi single in the 4th....now another walk to load the bases.

Of course he now gives up a 2 out 2 run single to the pitcher.

And it doesn't stop there...the bleeding continues...

He then allows a 3 run HR....all w/ 2 outs.
I guess he forgot where he was and how to pitch.
Allowing a 6 run inning...I'm not sensing the urgency by him or Callaway.

These are the things that kill us...and makes the BP work OT.

He gets Dan Murphy out to end it.

7-4 Rockies after 4.

Lordy!

Mets are flailing.

Pete hit a leadoff double.
JD Davis failed to move him to 3rd, by pulling the ball to third.
Rosario tapped a single to the mound.
Mets had 1st & 3rd...1 out.
Callaway sent up 2 PHer's....both came up empty.

Guillorme K'd & Panik grounded out.

7-4 Rox mid 6th.

Mets drop the series opener and get their final road trip off on the wrong foot.

Final: 9-4.

Cubs & Brewers won their games.
Dbacks look like they might come back.

Nats lost...so there's that, but of little consequence now.
Phillies were off.

After tonight we have only 12 games to play, and things are not looking as promising as they did a week ago.

Tomorrow's game is pretty much about as close to a do or die situation as they can get without being mathematically out of the WC hunt just yet....imho.

Every game becomes more important than the previous one, win or lose.
