OK, so what outstanding picks have they made?
I mean, I never said they made outstanding picks but he said they were bad at drafting.

But since direct questions don't spook me, while a little too soon to tell, not sure about outstanding but seems like all the picks were at least solid at worse 2020. Some injury issues with many. Wills looked good as a rookie but fought injuries all year in 2021. Delpit and Phillips have looked good when they played. Many saying Phillips has been really impressive in this minicamp but who knows in shorts. Bryant, Harris (2022 starting center) and DPD look like really good picks for rounds 4, 5 and 6.

I think the Newsome and JOK picks were really good picks for 2021 with a chance to be outstanding. Too early to tell on the rest but no one has looked like a bad pick, especially based on where picked.

Would you care to help him out and tell me all the bad picks you have seen by this regime?

The NFL doesn’t need solid evidence to suspend you.

All the NFL needs is the player was near the victem(s), and it's "likely" something happened

no and no he loses some of his bonus also:suds:

From your article the Cowboys get the cap space back for the suspended period:

"As for the team’s cap, they will get back cap space for the base salary forfeiture and signing bonus payback once the regular season begins. That will give the club a little over $2 million of additional cap space to carry throughout the season ."

you will clutter with Qs for me then whine I don't answer (even though I did) but wont answer the questions posed to you here?

But I'll answer your questions - again......

1) Unless I'm not understanding you correctly (or you miswrote that?), no
2) would think in a fully guaranteed contract the cap space will be the same overall

your turn again

do you agree if he has a $30-40 mil base in 2022 whether suspended or not it leaves the Browns with a lot less money to work with in 2022?
do you agree when they signed Watson to the deal they very possibly thought he might be suspended only a handful of games or even none?
Do you agree if they don't use the cap space this season they can carry it over to next year?

a simple yes or no to each question is all that is needed so shouldn't be too cluttered.
I'll answer everything you have after. Let's stick to the topic

1) Wait. You said you agreed that " if he is suspended for half of this year his cap hit for this year will be reduced by $500K" and "if he is suspended for half of this year and his base salary was $30M for this year that his cap hit for this year will be reduced by $15M"

So how can you not agree that "the Browns save $14.5M more in cap space in 2022 if they gave him a $30M base than the current $1M" if he is suspended

2) perhaps this is the problem we are having. If he is suspended, that money (just the games he is suspended for) never hits the Browns cap. It doesn't hit in 2022 and it doesn't hit in any future year. So if suspended half the year n his real contract the $500K or in my scenario the $15M never hit the Browns cap which is why I am saying they benefit from a higher year one base salary. Do you agree with this because it is the premise of my point. If I am wrong let me know but I think I am right.

1) my bad. I read your question wrong. Didn't realize you just wanted the difference in amounts of the cap space between the 2. Yes, 14.5 mil is the diff between 15 mil and 500k.

2) I think this is correct.

Some of this is mitigated, though, in the questions I've asked you....

Don't disagree

Did they sit on Zeke's bullshit suspension for a year and a half though?

Because he got screwed. No question.

Last week I looked to see if his accuser filed charges. Nothing, that could make a difference.

So #1 and #2 are exactly what I have been saying for pages. It's math. It isn't opinion and it isn't debatable.

It's debatable how much it factors into the browns' decision and of course you ignore all the Browns did is what they seem to always do with these deals year 1. also not debatable.

3rd chance to answer the questions I have asked and once again you didn't.

4th time's a charm? Use a lifeline?

Let me know if anything else you want me to answer

do you agree if he has a $30-40 mil base in 2022 whether suspended or not it leaves the Browns with a lot less money to work with in 2022?

Yes but as I said I was using $30M as an example only and said you can use whatever amount you wanted. I was originally using $10M but that seemed so low since they have $40M in cap space. But even at $10M they have plenty of space to operate even if they don't trade Baker. But use $20M if you prefer or even $10M the result is the same, just less

do you agree when they signed Watson to the deal they very possibly thought he might be suspended only a handful of games or even none?

No. I don't agree with this one at all. We all expected he was going to be suspended at that point and even before that. It was a huge part of the story

Do you agree if they don't use the cap space this season they can carry it over to next year?
Absolutely. Every teams rolls their savings into the subsequent year every year. The $40M they have right now would wipe out next years "overage" as of today (I think it's $30M). As we all know they will sign more players to increase the overage, but also do more maneuvering to reduce it.

How much it factors into their decision can be debated of course unless/until someone comes out and admits it. The fact that it hurt them by doing it the way they did can not and that was my issue with you on the topic. As they say follow the money. Sometimes it's as simple as 1 + 1 = 2

1) Yes was enough. Kind of hurts the point you are trying to make
2) Try again as you clearly didn't understand the question
3) Yes (or absolutely) was enough. also hurts the point you are trying to make

Once you understand question 2 a little better we can go on. hint - I didn't say it had to be no suspension that they expected.

1 + 1 + 2 is what they have done with pretty much every large extension in year 1 with a low base. You only assume (guess?) this one has an ulterior motive to suit your agenda and make 1 + 1 = 3
