It's pretty clearly deGrom at this point. Obviously, things can change with a month and a half left.

Anyone who gives 2 fucks about Wins is an idiot. Even John Kruk and freaking Mike Schmidt were saying in the booth yesterday that deGrom can't be held responsible for his team's lack of run production.

Although I agree on the wins being a nonfactor, but with deGrom at 1.71 era and only 8 wins,i`m thinking you can`t blame that solely on lack of offense from the Mets...….

Whats the average of runs scored when deGrom pitches is the question that would need to be answered...….

Right now I`d take Scherzer as Cy winner...…..

De Grom had a stretch where he gave up 2 runs in 7 starts and the Mets were 1-6 in those games

3.62 runs per game, but that's skewed by a 12-run game.

He's gotten 1 or fewer runs of support in a third of his 26 starts. In 11 of his starts, he's received 2 or fewer runs.

That said, right now, I'm leaning Scherzer. More IP, more Ks, more shutouts, and a better record.

Yeah, that was hysterical.

DeGrom 5/2 through 6/13:

8 GS ~ 48.0 IP ~ 65 K ~ 12 BB ~ 6 ER ~ 1.13 ERA

The Mets were 1-7 in those games, and DeGrom was 1-2.

deGroms run support definetley is not there, any other team he had a shot 20-22 wins..…..

But like slinky said,Scherzer has him beat in every category but era,and that is still just .42 era diference……..

I`d still give Scherzer the edge.

I think they should've dealt him for a farm system re-stock. At his age, his value will never be higher.

No way...when the Mets deal a guy, the prospects they get back in return all end up as junk.

OTOH, when they keep a guy, his arm falls off

MLB teams have scored an average of 4.44 runs per game. DeGrom has received average run support or more in only 9 of 26 starts.

Skewed even worse than I thought.

Mets scored 8-runs in four of his starts and 12-runs in another. Set those five games to a still-above-average 5-runs per, and his average run support drops to 2.92 runs per game.

If your digging that far into it,how about Scherzer and Nola………...I think you`d have to fairly assess their run support...….which I tend to think its gonna be higher, but by how much?

Scherzer did get ZERO run support last night.

Oh come on, what about Baerga? Zambrano? The immortal Jim Fregosi?

Ok, I concede the point.
