NL Cy Young is a pretty great two horse race with Nola as a clear 3rd(both in terms of not being 2nd and not being 4th).

Who do you got between deGrom and Scherzer right now?

Personally I think deGrom has pulled ahead. Even with wins supposedly not meaning as much. He's starting to pile those up so the total doesn't look as embarrassing.

ESPN had a good article comparing the 3 pitcher who basically are the top 3 in like all the categories with deGrom always being top 2.

Each guy being in the NL East means they face similar opponents throughout the season. deGrom faces the Nats/PHillies instead of the Mets tho so his opponents have been slightly tougher.

If I had a vote, I'd vote for deGrom, but it'll be Scherzer if all stays the same.

It's pretty clearly deGrom at this point. Obviously, things can change with a month and a half left.

Anyone who gives 2 fucks about Wins is an idiot. Even John Kruk and freaking Mike Schmidt were saying in the booth yesterday that deGrom can't be held responsible for his team's lack of run production.

It's deGrom or Scherzer, but man Nola's having a fantastic year. Dude's gonna be one of the best pitchers in the NL for a while.

Max Scherzer gave up a 3 run double to Rick Porcello

That alone eliminates him, De Grom would never do that

To be fair, he DID give up a run-scoring double to Bumgarner yesterday

I would have no problems with Sherzer winning it, but I think what deGrom has done, given the offense he has behind him, is pretty amazing. His ERA may have been helped by a shitty defense though

I don't think its close, De Grom literally hasn't had a bad outing this season

7 innings 3 runs is bad 2018 De Grom outing

And MadBum could hit, Porcello never picks up a bat and it was at a time the Nats were in a pennant race

It's awesome, no doubt. Hasn't been seen since Gooden first came up.

This is the kind of rare talent that 1) you never give up and b) you hope will sustain the success. Sucks for him that he'll never win a WS with the Mets.

It's interesting cause at 30 years old, as great as he is, can you open the vault for 5-7 years?

For five, yeah. 7 is more of a 1990's/early 2000's Yankee thing

Ben Lively hit a home run off him last year.

I think they should've dealt him for a farm system re-stock. At his age, his value will never be higher.
