He did play against a good defense. I think he benefited from young playing the most snaps since joining the niners

Better, but not nearly good enough to make me pause on drafting QB with the first pick this year.

I think he righted the ship some. I think BRob getting some more carries helped. Although Scott had more penalties then you like I think he did pretty well against Bosa and Lucas did well against Chase. 2nd half not so good, he forced passes again. I don't think he throws with anticipation.

I still believe RR and Eric Ninja turtle broke him. Granted he went 5th for a reason, but to be put on the shelf this soon feels like a missed chance

I like Scott. Lucas should have been playing all year.

I've wondered that as well, but the mistakes Sam made this year are the same ones he made his last year at UNC.

He is gun shy at this point. His feet never set, he forces the ball. I guess 50+ sacks could do that to anyone. Hard to say if he will ever overcome that, but I don’t think you can risk it.

What did you guys think of Howell's performance?
better but 2 costly to's that were bad choices under pressure . time to just trade him or let him go

Y’all are seeing the reason he did not get the HC position after all those interviews sometimes the QB makes you look like a superstar OC ala Aikman and Norv Turner. Norv was a good OC Troy and the Dallas offense made him look way better than he was. Same with EB and Mahomes

I've been saying this all year and was blasted on it as not seeing the supposed growth. He's playing his game without much change and at the NFL level there have to be adjustments and counter-adjustments as defenses learn more about QBs and QBs learn more about them. For half a game yesterday Howell settled down and had some success. He struggled when the Niners tightened the gaps in those passing windows.

He did look good early. I'd love to have him on the roster next year. EB put a lot on his plate, but the interceptions and sacks are mounting.

I disagree!! They absolutely MUST bring Howell back in 2024 (Brissett too)
JB yes , Howell no if you draft a qb early .trade him because he isn’t of value as a mentor , JB is

So, you start the rookie??? Absolutely not!!

SN: Green Bay has proven yet again why sitting rookie QBs should be the norm.
