That's an interesting narrative.

So a QB throwing a TD to a WR is now considered a freak play, huh?

I do like how you somehow managed to disparage the Seahawks in a 30 point win. That was pretty creative.

If they get throttled by the Rams then they will drop down the rankings.

Let me see if I can do this.

The Eagles beat a Redskins team that was still figuring out all the new pieces.
They got throttled by the Chiefs
They needed a terrible punt and last second heroics to beat the 0-4 Giants
They nearly lost to the 0-4 Chargers.

Gee, that was fun.

Nice try!

You might wanna think LONG and HARD about that lol. The Rams put up over 40 on the Colts too. Scoring a lot on the Colts doesn't really mean anything right now.

True. Alot if it i think has to do with preseason rankings.

The Seahawks came in with a high preseason ranking ( 2 or 4 i can't remember).

We slow started the pack.
We 60' dodge (put put put schutter) the 49ers ( stull remember the board after that game).

Our offense should up vs Tennessee but that was the only thing.

We had a beatdown win over Indy.

I admit, we still have not had one of those " prove it" or "there back" games but maybe it is this week vs the one everyone seems to be crowning the NFC west champs.

The Rams should be ahead of Seattle on that list. Power rankings are garbage.

They have the Cowboys at 12 and the Rams who have a better record and who just beat the cowboys in Dallas at 16. I admit this season has been crazy, but that is just stupid.

the Rams got shafted. They remained at 16 even though they beat a tough Dallas team on the road?? Meanwhile the Hawks catapult up the rankings even though they were losing their home game to the Colts at halftime. Confirms that ESPN continues to ignore west coast teams

Has anyone ever thought about what the week 4 power rankings were while watching a Superbowl?

Yeah, the Rams at 16 is obnoxious. Two teams that have impressed me thus far, are Denver and Detroit. Denver's defense is still perhaps the league's best, and as I per-dicted, Siemian is doing just fine under center. And Detroit looks to be the most balanced team in the NFC North. Granted, we're just one month in, but still, like what I'm seeing from them so far.

I agree that the rams got shafted. To be honest i'd put them at 10.

But i think 6 is a good spot for seattle
When your 2 wins are against SF and the colts, two of the worst teams in the league, and you have a .500 record, You are not a top 10 team. Maybe #10, but even that is being generous.

It's kind of silly to argue considering week 4 power rankings are about as meaningful as week 4 of the preseason.

Think about this... the Cardinals, who are garbage, beat the same teams that Seattle beat and lost to 2 equally as good teams as the two teams Seattle lost to.

Makes total sense.

Cards beat them on the road in their home opener. Seahawks beat them in Seattle. We both skated by SF at home.

I'm not making a case for AZ. They have all kids of problems. I'm simply stating Seattle at #6 is as big a joke as any on these power rankings. And their are a lot of jokes within.

NFL.com has the Eagles at 3. I like their ranking better.

Got throttled by the Chiefs? They were bearing them halfway through the 4th quarter and had the ball until a fluke turnover that ricochets of someone's helmet and falls into KCs arms.

I think most of us can agree that power rankings are garbage and offer little, if any, explanation of how the merit was awarded

But you have to admit that jumping 6 spots just by virtue of beating the Colts seems a bit off

Agreed! I hate power rankings.

NFL rankings are maybe better than the ESPN rankings.

NFL Power Rankings, Week 5: Lions, Eagles soar into top three

The Rams are #10 and Seattle is at #14
