According to CBS' gameday crew, this is now pretty much a reality.

And all I have to say is, fuck the NFL if that happens. What a ridiculous move. What is it, a 5 hour flight at BEST, and that's only if you're in the NorthEast I would imagine. What a fucking dumbassed, braindead, half baked, turd of a fucking idea.

surprised the NFLPA hasn't pushed back harder against it already. Wembley is a great venue, but the weather and its effects on the surface are very poor for football. Expect a spike in ACL tears, etc.

For real. I will boycott every game but Packer games and everyone else should do something similar. Watch their night game ratings fall through the fucking floor. Why the hell would any player want to travel to San Francisco or Seattle from London and play with that kind of jet lag?

Imagine the Chargers flying over there - or worse, vice versa.

If I were a player I'd like playing for there. London is once of the 4 best cities in the world. But yea, the travel to road games would be horrendous.

the travel aspect of it is terrible. Not for the American teams, but for the London team. Traveling probably every other week would be awful. American teams probably wouldn't mind it as they would most likely fly out Sunday night or Monday morning and spend all week in London. But for the London team you're going to be on the away from home A LOT.

but in the end this is nothing but a marketing and $$ plan.

You have no idea how NFL flight plans work.

Teams that currently play in London, don't they leave very early in the week? For Jet Lag reasons.

I agree with pretty much everything said here so far. But even for a road team going to London, it's a bitch. It's worse if you leave a week early. I know there are all kinds of factors that aren't supposed to effect the great teams, but we all know that it can add up. So let's say you have the misfortune of playing London late in the season. You spend a week there adjusting your internal clock to play one game? Then you come home and you have a week of just feeling off. Maybe adrenaline will take over on game day, but you need sustainable adrenaline to play a 4 quarter football game. With playoffs on the line.....

Now let's say you're London. You get a Wild Card berth and not only are you on the road throughout the playoffs, you're never even really home, because what the fuck would be the point of flying all the way back to London? Especially if one of your playoff games is Oakland or San Diego.

Stupidest thing I have ever heard. They should be litmus testing Toronto, not London.

And for long term future moves. Maybe they should be looking at continuing to play some games in London to keep the cult following there strong, but you're going to have player issues there.

This is America's game. We don't have to turn it into an international phenomenon. Who cares. It's OUR game and we love the shit out of it.

I'm thinking the visiting team would not fly out there a week ahead of time. It would be the day before like normal.

What a fucked up idea it is to have a team in London. Very few players are gonna want to travel that far for a road game. If it does happen, then why don't they just bring back the whole europe league thing together?

every team would have to go there before their bye week... the London team would have to come over for 3 games at a time

Can't they just move England closer to the U.S.? It's not like it's that big.

And question: Will they be using a round ball at home games, or the pointy one?

Surely they will be in the same division with New England, so that they can form an immediate rivalry, right?
