add $25M for a WR and the cost is 30.7% or almost 1/3 of the available money.

There comes a point where players will shy away from teams because they know that money is tight and they won't get what they think they are worth.

Daniel Jones has officially asked the Giants for $45M. He certainly isn't in the Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert level.
Then again, fifth year option this year is $33M. Rogers supposedly wants a $60M one year extension wherever he goes.

Pretty soon the league will have to figure out how to cap salaries. Kinda shitty to be playing equal snaps and equal games as a QB and he's making $40M and another guy is starting every game for the Vet min. Eventually the union is going to be running into a problem when the low level guys making less than three million decide to go on strike.

I honestly think it's 50/50.

As much as I hate the idea, I believe thatn Bill would do it if he could get Garappollo for three years for around $15M per. At the end of this year he has to either pick up Mac's fifth year or let him go after next. That fifth year will cost the Franchise salary for that year which will be at least $35M because it's $33M this year.

The truth is that Mac won 10 games in 2021 and 8 in 2022. He threw for 1000 yards less and less TDs. I know that he didn't have good coaching but, he did not play well. He made little effort to excel on his own and that was in large part to immaturity rarely seen in a second year QB.

Most of us would much rather have seen Zappe get a better chance after winning two games and seeing an offense that had a huge increase in attitude and performance that disappeared as soon as Bill put Mac back on the field. Again, there was none of the enthusiasm with Mac. It was as if the offense was saying, "Oh Shit".

So yes, I think BB may have seen enough to give serious thought about a trade and if the deal is right, pull the trigger. Draft a QB like Hendon Hooker in the 2nd Round or Stetson Bennett in the fourth if Hooker isn't there.

Mac and BOB only have a few months together, BOB was hired by Saban in January of 2021, the same year Mac entered the draft.

I personally like Bailey Zappe more than Mac but I honestly don't know who's actually better. I just felt that Zappe appeared more confident in the offense and more able to make something happen.

To me Zappe seems like Taylor Heinke 2.0. I have no doubt he'll win some games, but enough games?

I loved the Zappe pick when he was drafted. I certainly like his 1st gametime experience.
I am not one of those ready to throw out Mac and bring in Zappe
