According to Mike Giardi on NFLTradeRumors this morning:

JC Jackson said openly that he wants a contract comparable to Jalen Ramsey's. He said that he loves playing for the Patriots but it's a money situation.

It was stated prior that no other CB in the NFL has as many interceptions as Jackson over the past four years.

Patriots will not tag him. They have told him to find a teasm that will pay him and the Patriots will work out a sign and trade and Jackson has supposedly agreed.

Patriots CB J.C. Jackson told NFL Network's Mike Giardi he wants to be the highest paid corner in the league.

It was previously reported Jackson wants to be paid as a top-five corner. Jackson is looking to match the $20 million APR Jalen Ramsey got from the Rams in 2020, a deal they could potentially land in free agency. The Patriots aren't expected to franchise tag Jackson, and a tag-and-trade scenario is unlikely. Jackson's chances of returning with the Patriots has been in doubt since the sides broke off talks during the season. The-26-year-old All-Pro is positioned for a massive deal if New England lets him walk.

Patriots and Falcons have been talking at the combine.

The rumor is that the Falcons are looking to move WR Calvin Ridley and the Patriots have been interested since last year.

Supposedly the first piece of the move would be Chase Winovich. Don't know if that's a Patriot demand or a Falcon request. Second piece might be Shaq Mason. From there it's all fuzz and farts.

Way too early in the season for anything to be solid. BUT. Trading Mason would give BB $10M cap space. If he cut Agholor and made the trade, he'd have $20M. Ridley's cap hit is $11M. Maybe BB extends him and eases the hit?

JC Jackson is a ballhawk and a very good CB.
He is not a shutdown CB and should not be paid as one.....

If it's all about the money, he is long gone......

Rumor: Zolack & Bertrand 3/7/2022

Unless overwhelmed, BB will not hire an OC. He is considering calling the offensive plays himself.

He did this in Cleveland and it ws a disaster.

Somethin' ain't right here.

No disrespect but how the hell do people continue to hold Cleveland against Bill as if there is any comparison between then and now? It is absolutely fucking ridiculous, and frankly speaking, stupid in my opinion.

just reporters trying to be the 1st which with BB doesnt end well

btw ken holds everything against BB:suds:

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Bill Belichick could be the Patriots' offensive play caller in 2022.

"There's sort of an open belief leaguewide that coach Bill Belichick could call the plays or, at the very least, have more involvement in the offense," Fowler said. "He's involved in everything, to be sure, but he could really dig in here." New England lost longtime offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to the Raiders last month and have since made the curious decision to bring back Joe Judge, who's expected to work with the team's quarterbacks. The loss of McDaniels after Mac Jones' surprisingly successful rookie campaign could be a big hit to New England's offense in 2022.

I'm all for it. Would be fun to see what Bill calls. He'd be great, right?

I mean, fuck it. We've just enjoyed 20 straight years of sports bliss. Let's shake it up a bit and see what happens.

Even if BB had the cap space I don't think he would make JC the highest paid corner. It will be interesting to monitor his success with another team.

Not to mention in reality he shouldn't be paid like one of the highest corners. Did he has picks? Of course but a lot of them came off deflections and I don't think he was a shut down corner by any means

I think BB pretty much see's it the same way, rarely does BB over pay for a player. I don't doubt someone can step right in where JC left off.

Cant blame him. Pats are not the juggernaut they were with Brady. They are getting better but why not go a team in the same position but also get paid large as well.

To be fair, this punishment seems harsh. He wasn't with the team and put no integrity in jeopardy. Clearly a lapse in judgement but it ain't a Pete Rose kinda thing. Three games with a strong message acknowledging the short suspension given the distance from the team had insulated from an issue of integrity.

Disagree. Now that the NFL is actively involved in gambling, they must come down hard.
There should not even be a perception of anything going on.

That's unless it's a team owner for Dolphins losing games on purpose......

I agree with your "perception of anything going" but this case would be a mis-perception. The league is in bed with the gambling industry and it seems like a phony integrity chest thumping move to punish that harshly for someone who was away from the game.
