And it begins. Discussions before, during and after the first game of the 2022 season.

Dolphins have been making a lot of moves.

Will bringing in Tyreek Hill give Tua the outside threat that everyone thought the Dolphins were missing and put them in for a run at the Bills?

Will the Patriots be able to shut him down like they did when he was at KC?

This game should give some insight to what the 2022-23 regular season could be like for the Patriots and the Dolphins.

Divisional games are always tough to call.

Pats D should be rated pretty high and have the ability to upset the timing of the passing game. Let's not pretend Hill is not a handful, he is, question is if the front 7 get Tua off his mark how accurate can he be all game?

I think we all know our offense is a big question mark we have solid TEs and should be able to run the ball. Running the ball and TE play over the middle could set things up downfield. Look for Parker to have two TD catches.

Assuming the OL actually gets it together the Pats should be able to run the ball. I am not convinced they can throw it however.

I read today that Bill will have the team in south Fla a week early to get used to the heat.

Will it be enough?

I have been here 30 years still not use to it, if that helps
I've been here 3 months and still haven't adjusted. BUT, the season is changing and the temps are beginning to cool very slightly.

111 degrees here today in sunny Stevenson Ranch CA. The late summer heatwave has finally arrived.

According to CBS, the weather will cool to the 70s every night and return to the lower 90s every day. A monster mega thunderstorm is headed this way today about 7:00 PM. Down in Miami it's hot and humid. Speaking of thunder it's beginning to roll outside right now.

Note that Xavien Howard, Byron Jones, Nik Needham and Eric Rowe are all nursing injuries.
Keion Crossen is a special teamer that has started 4 games in his 5 year career.

Noah Igbinoghene is the projected starter across from Xavien Howard in game #1.
It was a big surprise for him to make the team as he has been terrible at CB and is scheduled to be cut by end of season at the latest,
maybe cut when Byron Jones comes back after week 4

Just some "jerky" to chew on waiting for Thursday night's season kickoff between the Bills and Rams.

Bills (-2.5) @ Rams
Ravens (-7) @ Jets
Patriots (+3) @ Dolphins

Experts Predictions:

Bills will destroy the Rams.
Ravens will destroy the Jets.
Dolphins will cruise against the Patriots.

BigKen doesn't agree with the experts on two of three.

Bills have not played well on the road over the past three years and one had to wonder how McDermott will magically change that, especially against the Champs in game one. Rams 38 Bills 20.

Ravens have suffered serious injuries that have killed them over the past three years. For game one they are healthy and the Jets may not have Zach Wilson . have to agree with the experts. Ravens 45 Jets 13

Dolphins have the same popularity surge that they have at the start of every season. They have as many "new" things as the Patriots. Difference is that the Patriots don't have a 'new' head coach for the third time in four years. Dolphins 20 Patriots 31.

AFC Est Standings after Week 1

Patriots 1-0
Bills 0-1
Dolphins 0-1
Jets 0-1

Maybe a bit optimistic, but I think Miami, and Bills especially are vastly overrated. Pats underrated and Jets … ?

I think Pats control the game in Miami and pull off the upset.

Some people have Bills winning 14-15 games which is laughable. They play several top teams. To get 14 or 15 wins they need to sweep AFCE which is not happening.

Jets are underrated How can't they be because we keep comparing them to the past.

Well I have been pondering this game and here is my personal conclusion.

1. We don't know what the last two weeks of training has accomplished but I have to believe the stone is continuing to be honed. Under no circumstance should we believe any of what the media has to say.

2. The last pres-season game the Pats played a team they will meet in the regular season with a head coach that is real familiar with this organization. All the media could talk about was how inept the Pats offense looked. I think it's very real possibility BB did not want to show his hand and kept the offense vanilla on purpose.

3. For all intent and purpose this defense especially the front 7 could be solid and the team D could rank in the top 10 by seasons end. Look for them to be very disruptive and look for aggressive DBs within the five yard kill a WR zone and look for a lot of help over the top in Hill.

4. Look for Hunter Henry and an improved Jonnu Smith the keep the Miami D in their heels setting up RB play and allowing Parker room to roam. I think he could have two TDs.

5. Pats 28 Phins 17
