*NFL*Great nba slate on Thursday

Man was this a shock....mostly because I didn't even know there was a lottery in MLB.
I mean, I agree....and glad it goes to 12You missed my point.
I wouldn’t bump anyone. I would add more to the mix.
4 team playoff isn’t a playoff at all. Too much politics to who gets invited and someone deserving often gets left out.
We've heard this from others in the past (even stroud) so hard to believe anyone at this level will really stay until he does.....for sure, though, a better shot it happens now than before NIL.Harrison is likely to go top 3 but he isn't like other guys with NIL money so high I could see him coming back. At least there is a small chance now, all year I thought there was 0 chance. It would be great for college football, a guy staying his senior year to forego the draft even being a top pick. Yes injury is always a concern though.
Marvin Harrison Jr. addresses possibility of returning to Ohio State for senior season
The star wide receiver is expected to be a top draft pick when he declares, complicating a desire to stay at Ohio State.www.on3.com
“Coming into this year, I wanted to beat The Team Up North and win a Big Ten Championship and obviously I did not do that this year. I think there’s a great motive to come back if that’s what I decide to do. That’s something I definitely wanted to do in my Ohio State career, and not having done that yet definitely opens the door for me to come back. But undecided, really just taking it day by day at this time,” Harrison said.
Had heard for a while what the analytic type want most from a college QB is the following........Between him and Lance and Young and Wilson looking rough as top picks and Purdy looking great, I wonder if the league will start to shift away from the young projects with the big arms that barely played vs the guys who start a ton of games in college and learn how to play. Not entirely of course but more guys like Purdy will get a look and maybe teams will shy away from trading a bunch of firsts to take guys like Lance
thats true- but big arm- not much experience is exactly what Josh Allen was- and tons of experience, high accuracy, high td int ratio is exactly what Baker was.Had heard for a while what the analytic type want most from a college QB is the following........
*As you mention, a lot of starts...preferably against better comp.
*wins
*high completion %/accuracy
*high TD/INT ratio
I know for me when I hear "big arm (or just big guy)" as his main attribute, I would shy away.
of course there is no clear cut #1Man was this a shock....mostly because I didn't even know there was a lottery in MLB.
Haven't heard of that. A series?just finished absentia that was good.
Yep...and why Baker went #1 and if we didn't take him many others would have.thats true- but big arm- not much experience is exactly what Josh Allen was- and tons of experience, high accuracy, high td int ratio is exactly what Baker was.
Baker has proven to be a viable NFL starter- but hes not Josh Allen.
Funniest thing in all this (or FA in general) was hearing Cashman whine about how much the Mets would spend.
So true...and why I was never upset when the Tribe dealt guys like CC, Lee and Lindor as opposed to offering mega deals.the Mega deals are stupid as fuck.
Haven't heard of that. A series?
Another good one I'm currently watching is Night Agent.
Reacher and The Firm were really good, too. The Firm is a series started AFTER the movie ended.
all true, but can they please stop with the "we cannot spend because of our TV deal" crap? Likely were not going to spend anyway AND other teams who will spend have the same TV issue.I think the Guardians have like 4 of the top 68 picks or something- and functionally will be able to get even more talented players since they will have bonus pool money to sign certain guys over slot.
If they hit this draft right it could really set them up in the future considering the # of picks that are high, and the biggest bonus pool in history.
abstentia, eh? Sounds like my kind of show.yessir
about an FBI agent that is abducted for 7 years and presumed dead and is found and goes from there
I get this logic but disagree. Main reason many teams have more money are their TV deals. However, their TV deals are useless without all the other teams......I mean, should one team get, say, $2 mil for a broadcast from a game when the opponent gets, say, 300K?Meh, I get the point of caps and floors, but I don't really agree with them. Especially caps. If one team can/is willing to spend more than another, they should be able to.
We've all said on here at 1 time or another that teams make far more money off of their superstars than they can ever pay them. If a team is willing to pay them more and maybe close that gap some, why shouldn't they be able to?
Having said that, I'm not really a fan of $700 million for Ohtani given his recent health issues. I get that they're paying for an elite everyday hitter and an elite starting pitcher in one player...But he's also had 2 "procedures" on his elbow now (no one seems to want to say this last one was Tommy John surgery, but it sure sounds a lot like Tommy John surgery). We know he's not going to be able to pitch this coming season so the thing the Dodgers actually need him for the most, he's not going to be available for.
I hope I'm wrong, but at that price, this seems like it has the potential to end up being a big mistake. Hell, they probably could have gotten 2 high level pitchers and at least a solid bat for what they're going to pay Ohtani.
abstentia, eh? Sounds like my kind of show.
Netflix?
Perfect example of how much spending helps is the Yankees. sure, some will say but they have not won in so long......but because of how much they spend they are a legit threat nearly every season. Does anyone really think Cashman is smarter than the other GMs?I am with you it could be an overpay but it isn’t for what you mention. They will make so much off Ohtani and he is the arguably the best superstar since Bonds. Totally worth it.
Teams with lack of market and cheap ownership have zero chance unless everything goes their way. A team like the Rays is a perfect example. No fans/lack of revenue but they make great moves, develop players and beneficial trades. They made a WS but there is a clear ceiling. It is basically impossible to compete. I would think the same way if my team was a big spender. Other sports have these rules and that makes baseball unique and it wasn’t so lopsided years ago but it is now.
Curious if anyone ever asked Peterson why he went for 2 on last TD. Incredibly dumb. Did he think this was the same as going for 2 late to make it a 6 point game (and 8 if you don't get it)? Earth to Doug...it's not. The latter way you need a TD to win the game (or tie) either way. The way he did it by missing his team needed a TD to win as opposed to FG to tie had he gone for 1.Well yeah but I am believing the Browns are just cursed lol
