Devils Advocate: Our top 2 RBI guys are 30+ with one year left on their contracts after this year (Seager has team option). Our bullpen which was our strength was patch worked with veterans who had career years for the most part. That is my biggest worry. Our future core was not the main contributors with the exception of France and Crawford.

Not trying to poo poo your hope, just a worry I have. I am hoping you are right.

Nothing wrong with having some worry, it’s been 20 years since we sniffed the post season…

lol..yep..if they could win..8 or 10..

soo..i would put leake in as...butt..cover...cuz he could go in in almost any...situation...i don't think of him as a closer...but i would not say..that he could not do it.........

yeah cuz it will take 1/2 your bull pen from tacoma next year as well...

throwing leake in there..would be ....like throwing the other team....a changeup....not really like any other pitcher seattle has...
so ..you could put him in some sit's..where others do not do well....

so the if leake is un available..maybe a guy who..can do like he does..........a clone....lolololol

keep the other team...off balance.....

Nice to see Gilbert get through the seventh inning for the second time. Very nice outing for him.

I taped the game ... going to have to replay his at bats and see his approach and what he is doing differently.

I think he is finally just relaxing and knows he truly belongs and the pressure is lifted now after the horrendous 0 fer 45 or whatever it was.

I hope he truly flourishes as an Mariner. He was the key component in the Cano off loading

What I have noticed is he isn't chasing the bad pitches as much making pitchers throw him strikes. And of course he isn't missing them.

So M's shift for 3 straight right handed hitters and 3 straight right handed hitters hit it to where a 2B use to play back when baseball was normal.

So basically hitters are now capable of hitting against the shift. That’s great adjustment on their part. Pretty soon the shift will be useless and defenders should just go back to their normal positions.

I can only hope. But as a manager, how many hits through the vacated hole are you going to allow? Luckily it didn't cost them in the end...not that it matters at this point.

If I’m a left handed hitter, I’d just laid a bunt down the 3rd base line to get on base. It’s pretty much free if the pitcher can’t get there in time. Too bad many of these guys can’t bunt these days. Ichiro will probably get a double out of a bunt if they did this against him. Lol

I am going to go completely against my hate of analytics. IMO his biggest issue has been his AB’s against lefties with that off speed pitch, which in turn made him have issues with righties and the change up on the right side of the box. He has the talent without question, the biggest question with him is ego. I have no doubt he has the ability to be a star, just can he mentally realize this isn’t football or basketball where you don’t throw a fit when you aren’t successful. As of right now he is the diva wide receiver in football, but question is he going to be like the 99% who end up with drop issues because they are so amped when they get ball or is he going to be the 1% who end up playing in the league.
