I really do like the idea Jeffro! Let's get through this basketball draft so we can do a baseball draft then we can do the Jeffro Draft!

I think our current idea for basketball might have opened up an idea for baseball too...

Couple of thoughts on baseball draft

First round playoffs should be judged on who would win the most games in 162 games schedule, meaning bench and pitching depth has added value. 2nd round based on 5 game series. Championship on 7 game series

I think an all time pure numbers draft would be fun, meaning, Barry Bonds hit 73 bombs in a season(no but's), Pete Rose bet on baseball(so what), Joe Jackson(big deal), and old time players NUMBERS count just like they played today.

Exactly. Over 162, bullpen depth. Lefty/righty. Backup catcher. Quality depth are huge. In a series. Its starter heavy

I like that. In the rankings we could each figure out if each team played 23 games against each other team we could figure out the wins and losses and base our rankings on who wins the most games in the 161 games schedule.

Also, instead of worrying about super teams, let's bow up and pick winners of series by game. Example

Game 1- Carlton vs Kershaw... Carlton has more playoff experience and the lineup he's facing is LH hitter heavy.. . Carlton wins

Break down 7 games(or 4 for a sweep)

Exactly! 16-7 vs team A, 12-11 vs team B, etc. But that wouldn't guarantee 2nd round success, because, as we've seen, best regular season team isn't always best playoff team......

But when your building your team for a 7 game series, remember.... you gotta get there first

I like specific grading

We've done several HOF limited mocks lately. I wouldn't mind opening it up. JMO

Got an idea for football. There are 32 teams, meaning 64 total offensive and defensive units. If we have an 8 man draft, 8 picks each is 64 even. What if each person gets to pick units, like Steelers defense or packers offense, till all 64 are gone, 4 O andv4 D per team. Then we have a day to pick any player from our units, post out teams, and have playoffs. We could do it by year, decade or all time. I like it because you'd have to match schemes of the teams you get to best utilize great players
