Another way we could do it would be to pick one player from each level of success. For your 5 starters, you could have 1 HOF, 1 All Decade, 1 All Pro, 1 All Star and one non all star. Your entire bench would have to be made up of 6th men(at least 50% of appearances came off the bench). Just spitballing

I like the starting 5 idea but where does it show all decade, all pro? The have all pro in basketball? I thought it was just 1st team 2nd team NBA and all stars...

I think Ritzy had an idea long ago about making each players value the number of times he was an all star, like Kareem would be $19M We could just add $10M to MJ which would make him $24M I believe. We could make the cap like $70M and draft 10 players. We could work the numbers a little...

for Michael Jordan correction how about 1 mil per all star and 3 mil per NBA MVP...
Here Jordan would be 29 ... But why are we only correcting for Jordan??

How about, we use basketball-references WS/48 as the salary and the salary cap is 1.00

all salaries are rounded to the nearest 100th... so a .255 would be .26

I know you'll be shocked but that doesn't work for me at all... I do however like the adding an amount per MVP and $3M seems like a good number.

So $1M per all star appearance and $3M per MVP with a cap of what $70M?

its too bad you don't like the ws/48 idea... honestly I really want to do a draft where the advanced numbers are the salary cap... It would show how we differ from the advanced numbers...

I wish it would work in baseball, but pitching is too difficult... WAR has way too much about innings pitched, so many old time pitchers just have huge WARs while modern pitchers don't with the 5 man rotation and the not so often going 7+ innings...

I know most wont... but it is actually the best way to do it IMO... Just look at the WS/48 rankings... the prices seem very good...

and for this draft by using this, longevity will be key... Not sure if that is a good thing or not...

How about this for baseball

2 players per decade

Pre 1900
1900
1910
1920
1930
1940
1950
1960
1970
1980
1990
2000

24 players, 8 position, 1 DH, 5 Bench, 5 SP, 5 RP

Only 1 pick per decade can be an HOF

Thoughts?

Yeah, we're done baseball capped I think, thought this would be fun. We could make it tougher by adding in all 24 players would have to also be from different original teams

Depending on what the next mock is I might be interested in making a return to these. NBA salary call sounds good and I line the all stars plus MVPS system.

I think my baseball idea works pretty good for NFL. 4 players per decade, 60's-present, 1 player per franchise max

Do you need people for the next draft? And what is it exactly?
