How about on the next baseball draft, it's wide open again, but this time the teams are based only on Career Years? That would open up every player of all time who has had a great year to be equal to a hall of famer. Example would be Doc Goodens rookie year....that year would stack up against most HOFer's best season. It wouldn't matter if Walter Johnson was a better pitcher, it would be who was better in their career year. When we post our lineups, you post R/L, and that players statline. Obviously, final stats will mean a lot, but you can still factor in defense, righty/lefty, etc.

I was thinking about this set up. Essentially, since its individual career years, all the stats totaled up could be your teams record, SP's combined. Also could diveide out team runs per game, ERA, etc for the individual season. Then you would have solid info for playoffs since its based on one season only

I like it because we could still use all time players, but in looking into it a little, there are plenty of seasons from guys you'd never think twice of drafting in a career draft that would be similar to seasons by guys like Ruth or Bonds

Why don't we try to work the salary cap idea for the basketball draft.

I like it because all players are draftable and there are a lot of different strategies. You can have 2 HOF's and an all decade plus 9 role players, or 10 all stars but no all time greats

Don't think I like this at all... it really wont affect how we draft our teams, all it does is make it impossible to vote... It is already hard to vote, why make it harder??

Can we make this one simple rule though... Any time we are drafting with the HOF restriction the player pool HAS to be with players who are retired for enough years to be voted into the HOF if they deserved it...(this includes baseball, Football, Hockey(if we ever do a hockey))... Baseball needs a rule for Steroid era too...

I just feel like it is cheating to draft a LeBron James, or tim Duncan...

If we can only draft 2 HOF, why not just make it a NON HOF draft... I think with those prices we would need at least a 200 cap for 10 players...

2 HOF players in Hoops is 40% of your starters, it would be like 4 starters in baseball or 9 for football. Makes a difference. But all teams wouldn't be unbeatable

How about the cap be a simple $3 million per all star appearance, with an additional $1 million per start. Non all stars are $2 million. So if, say LeBron were a 10X AS with 8 stars, he's $38 million. Make the cap $200

Jordan counts $100 million

How about 10 per NBA FINALS MVP
5 per season MVP
2 per All star game made
1 per all star game started...

I think the All star game appearance(no extra for a start) would be a simple and easy way to cap it. KAJ had 19 appearances, (and for all players, nba and aba combined would equal their total), so if you went $2 million per appearance, that would be a $38 million hit on a cap of say $150. That would be the largest hit any player could have. A 5X All Star would cost you $10 million. Only extra charge would be for Jordan, an automatic $75 million hit(yep, half your cap):2cents:
