Luka is an interesting case given hes a pretty poor defender. Would take multiple titles to get him anywhere near the room.
He improved his defense a ton in the playoffs last year. He held his opponents to a low % but yeah definitely average at best. I don’t think he can ever contend for GOAT bc you need to be an elite two-way player. Everyone in the top 10 is elite off and def player. Kareem, Kobe, MJ, Bron, Bird, Hakeem, Shaq maybe not elite.

Jokic is fat and arguably the best player in the game. He can get away with it bc he is a big
He’s not fat. Just a goofy looking body. He’s in great shape imo.

Luka getting his beer taken away from him last year after the WCF said a lot to me. They need to take away his McFlurrys too.

@CitySushi

there’s absolutely room for new goats for me. There will always be human, sports, and sports science evolution and that will naturally keep producing new goats over time. Has to be that special blend of ability, chips, and accolades, and the also the right intangibles like championship killer mentality where youre at your best in the biggest moments. I think all that prob applies more to basketball than baseball but if all that comes together in a new player, he can be the goat.

I agree with all of that, i'm just wondering where do we go in the NFL? It's already world class bodybuilders running like olympic track stars.

Great cardio shape but he is still fat. He’s got a jiggly stomach

Dude is so impressive what Jokic is doing because he doesn’t possess any superior athletic qualities. There have been better shooting bigs than hi. Better post game. Arguably just as good passers. Definitely better rebounders. Absolutely more athletic bigs. Yet he just puts it all together night after night and dominates the game in one way or another. He doesn’t get the love, a little like the way Curry used to get disrespected, because they don’t look the part of dominant superstar.

Luka hasn’t shown me the level of dedication to his craft to be put on any sort of GOAT watch. He’s just getting away with talent right now. If he had half the work ethic of Curry, he could be far and away the best NBA player right now imo.

Football, Mahomes looks like he has the trajectory to become better than Brady. Just needs longevity like Brady and more Super Bowl wins.

Baseball is tough. We will never see pitchers put up the innings or wins any more so their numbers won’t be comparable. Bonds was far and away the best player I’ve ever seen and I got to watch him a ton. He was electric.

Everyone forgets Luka is still relative young, only 25. Jokic is 29. I mean I guess Luka could work on his defense bc that is his really only weakness. Dude averaged 34, 10 and 9 and shot 38% from 3 on 11 attempts. That is pretty insane. The only reason Jokic keeps winning MVP’s is bc he is averaging almost 10 assists as a big man and nobody has witnessed this type of player. He had a better team around him than Luka and record matters. For the longest time people were saying Jokic was a shit defender and he has improved but probably still around average. He really didn’t make that jump as a defender until last year and he was 28. Way too early for Luka to even be in any conversation regardless but the defense will need to improve and effort.

I figured it would be slower. When we did them all the time we got in a groove. I will admit I forget sometimes so then it takes more time to research bc it's 3 sports in one
100% right. I think it's the size and type of draft that's taking the time up. This type of draft is just something that's going to always be long

I reckon i'll say this again. I am glad you joined us but being you feel this way you certainly didn't have to. Kinda seems like a punishment for you.
It's why ive always been down with the group of 7-8 we normally roll with. We have lost a couple of good ones over the years including WLK of course, but I still had fun. It's great to have new guys, but not if it's a twist of the arm or someone like Hall who doesn't give a shit if he screws the whole process and just quits in the middle. That should be an auto ban if we did anymore IMO

Luka was an awesome pick. I used my never traded on Magic or I would have taken him long ago. Luka is 25 years old lol. You can put him up against any player in the top 10 as an offensive player/rebounder at 25 and he stacks up comparably, even with MJ and LBJ. Obviously defense is another story, but its not exactly like LeFlop was Michael Cooper on D
